I've been smoking a pack (which is 15 more than my usual, blame stress) lately and then decided to quit. Now I've been feeling dizzy and feel like I've lost power in my arms and legs.

Did any of you experience something like this ? I'm undecided wheter I should worry or not. I'm going to feel relieved if somebody links this to my quitting or I'm gonna go to a doctor.

It is most likely related to smoking, but if I lived in Turkey - with the bird flu going around, I would go to the doctor for almost anything abnormal.

They say that bird flu hasn't come around here yet and the sad thing is there isn't much a doctor can do if you have it.

I'm no expert, but withdrawal from anything can have weird effects. Given too that you drastically upped the "dose" you were getting, then cut it completely, it's not unreasonable to think that you would get weird shit going on. If you're really worried about it, I'd go to a doctor, but I wouldn't worry too much unless it goes on for more than a week.

Buy a pack of lights and slowly ween yourself off. Quitting cold turkey isn't a good idea. Your body is accustomed to the nicotine, and now that it is deprived of it, it thinks it needs it. Next time you feel dizzy light one up, even if just for a few puffs. Your body will go back to normal, but you're going to have to find the balance.

I remember feeling a bit nervous or even aggressive during the first few days when I quit smoking regularily. It does have an effect on how your blood flows so I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't have an effect on muscles too. You might also be getting sick since the withdrawals can reduce your immunity.

I've never tried to smoke anything, so I can't comment on that, but I know I drink far too much soda and if I don't have a soda I eventually get a headache. It's weird. Hahaha.

Soda is my worst habit. I'll drink soda with breakfast! :D

When I quit, I cut down gradually, bit by bit, one less a day. Sounds like withdrawal to me, if it does on for too long I'd see a doctor, just to be sure.

Your body missess something that you had before and that is why you are experiencing those effects

Point: try to keep you mind on something else

oh yeah.... i'm smoking gay fruit-tobacco.. but that doesn't count.... 8)

I feel better now and I'm smoking again. I was under a lot of stress and I had to sit home for a week so I guess it's normal that I felt funny.

Thanks everyone.

Well yeah I did, I didn't know what to do. If I'm gonna feel like shit when I quit then I'm gonna smoke.

I hear you, stress is a deciding factor. However, it's not impossible to quit as long as you do it very, very gradually. Depriving yourself all of a sudden of a habit is a shock to your body and mind.

What he said. Cut down, one less a day or so, over a period of time. Glad you're feeling better.
