Judging from the song they premeiered at the Gods Of Metal fest last summer, I fear the worst.

I bet 10 million dollars that no matter what this album sounds like, people will claim them to be sell outs. This album could be IDENTICAL to any album they've released thus far and it will be said. It will be said all over this board. Lacuna Coil have never been an extremely heavy band, they've had TONS of slow, mellow songs, but those will be forgotten when the new album follows the same formula and they will be called sell outs. Bet.

They became semi-popular, that is what reaction fans have when a band becomes semi-popular or extremely popular. Now the asshole who loves Godsmack loves your precious band, uh-oh, the band must have sold out. Lame.

Personally, I cannot wait for this album. It's going to kick ass!

Lacuna Coil always sucked, they went from being wannabe The Gathering to wannabe Evanescence and aren't as good as either band.

Look, I like you here, hehe, so if you're serious with that comment, please don't take offense when I say this, but SHUT THE FUCK UP! Seriously, first they NEVER have sounded like The Gathering. Never. And they've NEVER sounded like Evanescene, and Comalies came out a year before Fallen came out, so there goes that theory. Evanescence's Origin album came out the same year, but being limited to 1000 copies I highly doubt you or Lacuna Coil ever heard it.

The more I write this response the more I'm hoping you're joking. If not I'm going to have to speak with everyone else here and we may have to banish you to Blabbermouth.net.

I was a big fan of Lacuna Coil before i discovered Sonata Arctica.
They sound commercial in a good way. Their songs are beautiful, emotional and Cristina Scabbia is damn hot. I know for sure that my brother can't wait to hear this. There will be a song from the new album in the Underworld 2 soundtrack.

I don't like female singers in metal.

Finally.. a new album. Comalies was my favourite LC release, it really just seemed to improve on everything they had built up on their first 2 albums and so I've been really looking forward to the next album. However I am a bit anxious about this "american influence" mentioned.. I guess we will see whether this is a bad thing soon enough.

I think the first EP is awesome, In A Reverie was really good, nut not amazing. The Halflife EP was another great release, but then Unleashed Memories was just good. Comalies, though, kicked all kinds of ass. I've like every release by them.

I'd always thought of Evanescense as Lacuna Coil copyists with a nu-twist...

I own two LC albums and they are always in fairly regular rotation, but really buying any more would seem unnecessary, because most of the time they stick to a very rigid formula. This release will only be interesting if there are significant progressions from their usual output. Let's hope, though, they don't become more "accessible", because they are already probably the most accessible band in the metal world. Any more accessibility is too much. :(

That's not my case, because I think Comalies (their "sell-out" album) was their second best effort after In A Reverie. The song they previewed sucked ass. End of the story.

How the hell was Comalies their sell out album? Why? Because they got popular? Do you honestly think if Evanescence never got popular that Century Media would have pushed that album so much? It's just a GREAT album! It's their HEAVIEST album, as well! How the hell is that selling out?

Meatheads and cheerleading squad sluts starting to like a band does not mean the band sold out.

Many people claim it's their sell-out album. I honestly don't give a shit, but I still dig it. What I'm trying to say is that I can't care less about a band's "kult" status; when I say I fear the worst for the next Lacuna Coil record it's because the new song I've heard was horrid, with nothing to do with scene shit and such.

Many people claim they're sell outs because they got popular. Simple as that. Don't follow that crowd, there's no credibility there. What was so crap about the new song you heard?

I appear to have assumed too much

Lacuna Coil are still boring (That's actually all I remember about them). The best thing I got from Comalies was that it taught me to download stuff by a band before spending money on them.
