Coheed and Cambria - Good Apollo Im burning star IV probably wins my vote for best non-metal album of 2005...but the years not over yet.

It's prog metal according to this site.

My only non-metal album bought and released this year so far ( 8) ):
1. The Crimea - Tradegy Rocks

The review says rock... :?

Of The Crimea or C&C? http://www.metalreviews.com/reviews/detail.php3?id=2957

it says "Modern prog rock" there...

You're confusing me Zad :?

He said it was rock. I said, what was, Crimea or C&C, if the latter, the review calls it prog.

Hard day?

Well I can't think of any good non-metal albums this year. That's kind of sad in a way.

Well I love Kents first three or four albums but the latest fells a bit too poppy and mainstream. I can't really explain it better, they just don’t sound like they used to.

And welcome to the forums by the way. Both Elo and pg.99.

I haven't bought a lot of non-Metal albums this year at all. And I was pretty disappointed by the two I purposely set out to buy Idlewild's Warnings/Promises and Teenage Fanclub's Man-Made.

From what I've heard of Jarboe's Men album, it's pretty good. You Ani Difranco fans should def. check her out, in my thread in the Alternative forum.

I'll check it out in the future. But Isola and Verkligen sure are in a league of their own.

TIE - here's a couple of samples of My Morning Jacket. Both songs are off of the new album Z.

My Morning Jacket - Wordless Chorus
My Morning Jacket - Off the Record

Enjoy!
