I was under the impression that the bands paid to receive them.. lol Shadows Fall. no-one would give them the merest bit of tin stuck to a polished wooden plinth so I conclude there are shenanigans involved.

Pure popularity contest. The committee scours MTV, iTunes, Fuse and the billboard charts to see what's played the most and boom! instant nominations. There's no actual look into see which artists have actually progressed their genre because they know actual talented performers = no ratings. Why watch if bubblegum pop heroes like Mariah Carey, Gwen Stefani, and Kelly Clarkson aren't on? No artist integrity, yet when you try and download their "music", they have their lawyers scream "INTEGRITY OF THE ARTIST IS COMPROMISED!" I piss on the Grammys.

I've seen far worse Grammy nominations than these....

At least Limp Bizkit isn't getting any nominations. And bands like Queens of The Stone Age and System of A Down are deserving of their nominations (although it sucks that it took the Queens so long to finally get one).

Of course, opinions of music are so subjective that I sometimes wonder whether it's actually worth giving awards for it - or even reviews for that matter.

Somewhere out there, there's probably somebody that thinks St. Anger is the greatest album ever recorded....

Which is funny because their last album is probably their most honest, non-conforming album yet. Then again, that's likely why it flopped.
