I started with Last Fair Deal Gone Down, and I was amazed.

Don't listen to MetalNESS. He gots poopie in his pants. Later Katatonia is better than their earlier stuff, I'd say.

Oh, but you're wrong....at least as far as Katatonia is concerned. I have no way of knowing if metalNESS gots poopie in his pants.

I would agree. I think their earlier stuff is really good, but the newer stuff is more diverse and just catchier. Their earlier stuff can get a little tedious some times.

I find exactly that charming on BMD... When on Brave at the 5:25 the guitar starts playing the 3 tone theme and then he punches the disstorsion on those so it completely sears your brain :D Doom at its finest :D Simple and effective not to mention the 20sec scream.

I agree that the new material is catchier but if i am not in the right mood i find it a little cheesy. I cannot say that about pre LFDGD era...

Both old and new Katatonia are great. But it's just as pointless to compare Brave Murder Day to Viva Emptiness as it would be to compare Sad Wings of Destiny to Painkiller. So don't do it :D

Dance of December Souls will always be my favorite album they ever did. But I liked every album they ever made minus Viva Emptiness. Like Eyesore said, this reminds me of Last Fair Deal too.

This album has leaked...and it's awesome!! Not as heavy as Viva Emptiness, but heavier than Last Fair Deal Gone Down. The leak has the interruptions telling you what you're listening to, but only two quick interruptions per song (I think).

Still, great, great album!
