I hate them with a passion! Geddy Lee's vocals just make me want to murder them all. I know musically they're good, but Geddy is one vocalist I have never been able to enjoy, or even get used to, or even listen to for more than a few songs without wanting to stab my eardrums with a pencil. BAH!

rush aren't nu-metal enough for Eyesore..

my favourite Rush release is Hemispheres, mostly for the epic title track. they have about eight albums which I consider good or great, though, including Vapor Trails which is relatively recent.

Hahaha! DIE!

 I would actually probably really like Rush if it weren't for Geddy Lee, he is just a huge wall I can't seem to get around.

I think SIGNALS, A FAREWELL TO KINGS, and2112 are probably my favorite albums. I haven't heard much else by them, except for their greatest hits, and every song on that is amazing.

"Subdivisions" is my all time favorite Rush song.

If Rush are musically only...good...,then the rest of the bands are average,at best!!!!

I have only 5 albums: -Fly by Night 90/100
-Caress of Steel 90/100
-2112 90/100
-Moving Pictures 90/100
- Signals 85/100
-Number of the beast 90/100
-Pleasure to Kill 90/100
-Appetite for Destruction 95/100
-Slowly We rot 95/100

4 years later and i own 5 more albums: A Farewell to Kings, Permanent Waves, Grace Under Pressure, Hold Your Fire and Roll the Bones.

Can anyone recommend a good album to start with? Rush are one of those bands that I like individual songs that I've heard, but haven't got any full albums yet.

Also good, a close second in my opinion. I also like Caress of
Steel and Signals.

Caress of Steel is awesome:Bastille Day is so glorious, and Fountain of Lamneth is so underrated!A great song, very Led Zeppelin-ish.

Signals is also very good, but sounds like a completely different band!Subdivisions,Countdown ,Analog Kid and Loosing It are great!

Agreed. That's how I started (recently) and it worked.

I'm a Rush n00b.

I own: Hemispheres, Signals, Hold Your Fire, Presto, and Roll The Bones.

Ratings!

Hemispheres - 92/100
Signals - 87/100
Hold Your Fire - 65/100 (couple gems keep this one listenable)
Presto - 85/100
Roll The Bones - 89/100

Ive heard pretty much all the others, but not enough to score em since I dont own them.

One of my favorite live performances must be disc 3 of "Different Stages/Live" The way they open with Bastille Day is just bloody amazing! For anyone who enjoys live performances, get that album! That 3rd disc still amazes me.

A couple days ago i caught a thing on VH1 classic, it was called R:30. Basicly just a live show but when they came out on stage they went into this incredible riff medley thats had to have lasted 10 minutes that was a collection of incredible riffs from a variety of songs they weren't gonna end up playing.

I was enthralled with how awesome it was.
