The NWOBHM movement is so far superior to all other metal genres......goddamn. I just can't get enough of it. SUre there was a lot of really boring stuff, but the best NWOBHM is some of the best metal ever put out...and for me its absolutely perfect. I just got WIldfire's first two albums, and my fucking GOD, the sheer rockingness is overwhelming. its a shame the art of rocking has been lost.

Def Leppard from 1978-1981 were one of the best NWOBHM bands.

I would say second best. You forget, my good sir, the allmighty erection inducing thrash.

NWOBHM's definately in my top 3, with thrash and black. It is a pity that rocking metal is rarely played now.

I don't really have a favourite except maybe Swedish melodeath since I like At The Gates, Dark Tranquillity, Opeth and sometimes even Soilwork

Thrash would have to take second place for me.....seeing as how NWOBHM is the grandaddy of metal as you know it! ANd I was just stating that its my personal favorite. Music has no more feeling or energy too it. THe NWOBHM bands did it without wanking or being trite. Simple and effective.

I agree, NWOBHM is amazing, but thrash (imo) is a tiny bit better, well good thrash, not slayer and metallica thrash.

Although megadeth are fucking awesome.

If all these old NWOBHM CD's weren't so damn hard to find, I'd have a lot more myself!

Start with Satan's Court in the Act, and Cloven Hoof's self titled.
