I'm not sure about this one. Rab Halford doesn't sound like a scary old man at all! I could see Russell Allen or something playing Dr. X, but not Rob Halford.

I really hope they pull this one off. It's going to be hard since DeGarmo was a major part of the first Mindcrime album..Helloween did a great job with Keeper The Legacy only time will tell if Queensryche will bring back the magic that was OM or will this just be nothing but hype.

And I also hope that Geoff Tate returns to his great vocal range that he had up to Empire.I want the Geoff Tate of old not the crappy singing he's done so far with Queensryche.

Well, DeGarmo was basically the sole contributor to Hear In The Now Frontier so I think DeGarmo is a non-issue here. Scott Rockenfeld and Michael Wilton both have side-projects (SLAVE TO THE SYSTEM and SOULBENDER) that are heavier for the most part than recent QR material, Soulbender being the better of the two. Slave To The System is more bluesy rockish, I guess, but when it rocks it seems to rock harder than recent QR. So anyway, the ability is there still.

I think the biggest obstacle here is Geoff Tate. Did you hear his solo album? I have hope, though, especially after hearing the live tracks from the new album. Have you heard them? "I'm American" sounds like a faster song like "The Needle Lies," they haven't done anything like that for a long time. "Hostage," on the other hand, sounds like some of the more recent material.

I did and let me tell you I enjoyed it... it's a good pop rock album and Geoff's voice is as good as it ever was on it... sure he cannot sing like he did in the eighties but his voice has gained in the lower tones & in emotion what it has lost elsewhere...

So, what's wrong with Geoff ??? :?

If this album is good AND Rob Halford is on it, I just might ejaculate.

He said he doesn't really care about Heavy Metal anymore. Which, is fine, but don't drag your biggest hit through the mud just to make a buck. I have no faith in this whatsoever, Queensryche hasn't been relevant in a long, long time.

I somewhat enjoyed it, too. I disagree with you on his voice, though, he can definitely still sing like he did in the 80's. What I meant was that I think Geoff has been a big part of the band moving away from that metal sound to a more rock sound.

They are. Pamela Moore is going to be on this album. I don't think they can bring her back to life, that would be retarded and would ruin one of the biggest questions in the history of music: Who killed Mary? I'd be pissed if she's supposedly still alive! What I think they'll do, if they're smart, is use her for maybe some flashback sequences or something.

Either that or a ghost.

That would be retarded if they did bring her back to life because I want to know who killed her.Was it Nikki or Dr X or someone else.

I think she commited suicide. If you watch the video for..."I Don't Believe In Love," I think, or maybe it's the alternate video for "Eyes Of A Stranger," I don't know, but if you watch the end of one of those videos words flash on the screen for like a split of a second. One of those words is "suicide." You can't see it played a normal speed, you have to slow it down and even then it's gone in a flash. Anyway, that's my theory.

Big fuss over what? Halford? Trust me, Halford on any album is not really a bad thing, but you remember what Dr. X looked like, right? He doesn't look like he'd sound like Halford at all.

Well it could be one of 4 scenerios here is what they are:

1.She commited suicide:remember she broke her vows as a nun and they found her with her rosary her throat hangning.

2.Nikki killed her via the Mindcrime spell:He might not have done it consciously but on a subconscious level via the Mindcrime.

3.Dr X killed her personally:Knowing that she was getting too close to his organization and to Nikki interfering with his plans he felt that it was time to kill her and he wanted to do it himself.

4.Dr X sent someone to kill her:for the same reasons above but he had someone else off her maybe someone in Dr X's organization who knows.

The line goes "...your rosary wrapped around your throat..." and that's not specific enough. She could have been simply wearing them.

True that is why that story was so good it was a thinking man's concept album you can deduce what happen come up with some of your own conclusions on who and how she was killed but the real truth won't come out until Mindcrime 2.

Hopefully they knew the whole story from day one and they're not going to cheapen it. The music may not be up to par, we'll see, but hopefully the story holds up, at least.
