PostPosted: Wed Nov 23, 2005 2:59 am
Since there isn't a recent purchases thread in this forum, I'll start one. Here goes:

Firehouse - Prime Time

This came out in 2003 but I could never find it anywhere but on import for like $30. Screw that. Best Buy had three of them tonight. Weirdness. Great CD, though.

Just picked up:

Cinderella - Still Climbing

EDIT: I just listened to this album twice through, fucking awesome! I've never heard it before, not sure why, really. Anyway, this is some excellent bluesy rock right here! I would have to say this album is highly underrated.

Rainbow - Down to Earth (yes i am counting this as hard rock instead of Metal)

Surprisingly good first offering without Dio. I never realised they comissioned someone else to write Since You Been Gone, although in retrospect it makes perfect sense.

I recently went out and bought both Disturbed's 10,000 fists and 'Believe'.

i was quite surprised about the price i got them for, $20 and $10 respectively. And they were both awsome as well :D

WTF? You paid $20 for one of them? Are you crazy? I must admit, I borrowed 10,000 Fists from my brother and it's quite good, much better than Believe. I haven't bought the new one yet because Believe kind of bored me, but I would never pay $20 for any Disturbed CD.

In total, it's like he paid 15 bucks apiece, which is quite a fair price.

AC/DC - Flick of the Switch

$15 for a CD? I hate paying more than $10. Haha. I'll [ay full price for some of my favorite bands, but I could never justify paying that much for a lot of CDs I own. Around here $19.98 is a sale price is some shops. Hahaha. Ridiculous.

...I suppose that's one drawback of living in NY- even the cheap prices will seem excessive to outsiders. $15 is cheap in NYC, 'specially Manhattan, where I go to get all my CDs/vinyls/whatever.

Course, the advantage NYC has is that you can buy pretty much anything at all here. Gen Records has everything from obscure Soundgarden bootleg EPs to every Napalm Death record and more.

I live in Australia, so i think what i paid for the CDs is a bit cheaper than what you pay for them. Maybe.
From now on, to avoid confusion, i will put AU next to all prices that i post.

Along with my new Pelican EP, I picked this up:

Stone Temple Pilots - Purple.

Much better than Core so far.
