I'm not saying I don't want to hear other people's opinions. However, I like it when these opinions are, at least initially if not all throughout the conversations, expressed in a manner not so unavoidably rude.



So what if it could have been? The main thing is that it wasn't.

I wasn't aware that Between the Buried and Me was Jaden's favorite band, and I don't particularly care either. I didn't say "Man, that vocalist from BTBAM sucks so much that he could sub for a vacuum cleaner," I merely put him on my list of worst vocalists because I hate his vocals. To me, he sounds like, to quote Jay, a monkey vomiting up razors.



You don't know me and are therefore not qualified to make such a judgement.



I was not complaining about bringing technical abilities into the argument.

I was complaining about, mainly, the manner in which these technical abilities/understanding was introduced into the argument.

The 'arrogant jerk' label was drawn from his insulting my knowledge of vocals. I would not have responded in such a manner had he not been such an asshole for no reason whatsoever.

Is that clear, or must it be spelled out?

No, I never needed it spelled out in the first place. I only asked why there always seems to be a problem when a person brings up their musical ability in a musical argument. I have been visiting this site for almost 4 years, and this has almost always been a problem. I asked the question because I fail to see the fault in using one's knowledge of musical theory in an argument. This question was directed to everyone, not just you, so don't take it so personally. If I wished to only consult with you, I would have e-mailed you and taken care of the situation in a private manner. In my statement above I was merely pointing out how pointless these types of arguments are. Personally, I could care less what you and Jaden think about each other.

As for me judging you: I am sorry if I made an incorrect inference. Since we converse only over the Internet, we must rely solely on inferences. I do it, and you do it as well. In your pervious post, you talked down to me as if I were a fool. Do I sound illiterate to you? This is an inference as well. In your posts you come off as a young man with a serious attitude problem. I don't know you, therefore I cannot know this for sure; however, I made an inference based on the manner in which you posted in this thread. I am sorry if this is not true, but that is impression you made on me. I did not mean to adopt a hostile tone, and I am sorry if this offended you. Presently, I have had just about enough of this bickering.

I'm guessing that everyone seems to have a problem with this because then they feel as though the person targeting them with this technical knowledge has the idea that they are not fit to make judgements on anything because of their own lack of knowledge. Thus, they snap back rather harshly.

Temper problem, not attitude problem. I get angry far too easily. One of my many shortcomings.

I mean, it makes no logical sense to get angry at someone calling me names or insulting my knowledge over the internet. I have no idea why I do so, and yet I do it anyway.

Between The Buried and Me isn't my favorite band (look at sig). In the Top 10 for sure though.

I don't know that much about Thrash, but I sure love the vocals (of both vocalists, but specially Agressor's) in Aura Noir's The Merciless.

I also like Tom Angelripper's and Tom Araya's.

Deathkult that is an excellent choice. Aura Noir rules. I have Black Thrash Assault or Attack, cant remember off hand, and the live album which also rules.

Ever listen to Sodom's cover of Surfin' Bird by the Ramones? Amazing!

If you guys like Sodom then it might interest you to know that they're playing with Sadus and Sauron in Milwaukee soon. I'm not sure of the date...but its going to kill.

So I've heard... I got all excited because I figured they'd be going on tour through the US, but upon checking their website (after accidentally finding myself on a porn site with a similar URL... oops), it doesn't appear that way. So I won't be seeing them, unfortunately.

Bummer man. If I go I'll tape the show for any who want a copy.

1. James Hetfield - rather than just talking fast or screaming or whatever (not that i don't like it) he actually SANG, and it sounded GOOD too! fuck, he even sounds great in Load and Reload (not that those albums don't suck, mind you).
2. Max Cavalera - he was nothing more than average, but his voice worked soooooo well in Sepultura!
3. Phil Anselmo in Pantera
