Discordance Axis is a band I find I can actually take seriously.

All the other grind bands I like have already been mentioned. I don't listen to very much.

I actually always thought death metal vocalists sounded like Dr. Claw from Inspector Gadget.

I'm listening to Rotten Sound now. I take them rather seriously.

I can take Nasum and Napalm Death seriously (I actually enjoy ND quite a bit) but I heard the singer from Nasum was killed in the tsunami. Is this true? Also, ND seem to be a band with a lot of experimenting throughout their albums (well, for grindcore anyway.)

It is true about Nasum.

ND really changed and became much more of a death metal band. I've always thought of them as being very traditional. A lot of the other bands mentioned previously are much, much more "experimental"

Yeah, he's dead. Shame.

Cephalic Carnage and Genghis Tron are experimental, Napalm Death are not.

I forgot about CC, and I love the new Genghis Tron! Grind seems to be a genre that plays it safe, like metalcore usually does.

We'll miss those Ozzie_Metaller pearls of wisdom.

grind can be completly mind boggling

check out daughters http://www.purevolume.com/daughters

and bands like Ion Dissonance and Into the Moat are bands that take metalcore to new heights.

Cattle Decapitation's first album, Human Jerky, can please any grindcore nut's taste for sickness... Prolly a little better than some (more like 100%) of the bands mentioned so far. But, that'd be me whoring my opinion again.

Don't know if you have heard it but Akercocke's new album is actually an absolute stormer! The grunts take time to get used to but in this album Jason uses lots more clean vocals and progressive elements, I'd advise anyone who likes proggy death to give it a go!
