I wouldn't call anything they've put out good. At best, it's not so bad that I would kill myself just to make it stop, but it's certainly not good.

They're a good band. More groove metal than metalcore, but they get lumped into the metalcore fold. I would never pay more than $5 for anything by them, though.

I listened to Impossiblity of Reason for a while, and Down Again is a decent song at times, but they were ultimately replaced by better bands and I havent checked back on them since.

The Impossibility of Reason was awful. So awful, in fact, that I have no desire to listen to the new album. I guess if someone told me it was a complete 180, then I'd consider it. I doubt that's the case, though.

Uggh. They opened for Opeth and I had to sit through an hour of this shit. The drummer is actually pretty good, too bad he's playing for the wrong band. I can tell these guys are influenced by real Metal somewhere down the line, but for every good riff they play they follow it up with "generic modern riff #1295". And they use pointless profanity way too much for me to take them seriously. Aggresion can be pulled off without resorting to using "Fuck" 10 times in a song.

Eh, the new album is way way too long. What is it with them and 50-minute albums?

Not only that, but Mark Hunter's vox still ruin the whole damn thing, and the riffs are still third-rate Pantera/Machine Head.

So it still sucks. Fuck Chimaira.

Chimaira? Oh, the band that sold out their mallcore fans?

y'know, i think that this band isn't actually much worthy listening to in today's metal scene, especially when there's Dark Tranquility, Opeth, Kreator and Slayer to listen to.

what's funny is Metal Hammer say that ''Chimaira have taken the thrash gauntlet from the vanguards of heavy metal, pushing thrash metal even further". Pffft. I believed that  , until I went and listen to ''Coma Lies" and "Reign In Blood".

They've glorified them even more than that. They called Slipknot ''underground''. Ha! Maybe if Chimaira played faster and less repetitive riffs, instead of chug a chug, and if Mark Hunter fucked off they'd be a great band.

they must've sold at least 4-5 million cd's so far... how underground is that? these quys are millionairs by now, even though our dear Corey once said Slipknot would stop playing the day it was all about the money.. he's so true...

So if they played a different style of music and had a different singer they'd be a good band? I agree that its possible.

Bad band. Now if they went acoustic and played Sunn O)) covers they'd be good.
