I think they are ok. I listened to their new album Miasma and give it a 70/100. I would give the old one a 70/100 too.

Hmm... I'm obviously scrapping the bottm of the barrel. I'm desperately looking for some new metal groups and recently got Miasma and Alaska from BTBAM. I was hoping they would rock. I do like them both. I see Arsis's name pop up every once in awhile and I want to get that album but I have a feeling they are one of those bands where every song is the same tempo and sounds the same.

I need to find a band NOW that gives me the same rush as In Flames Colony, Lamb of God, Testament The Gathering, DT- Character, Opeth, etc...

I must suck at liking metal because I kinda dig The Black Dahlia Murder :? Are you saying there is better in that genre

There is a lot better in that genre. Too many to list. Look around the site, I'm sure you'll stumble across at least 20 bands that own the Black Dahlia Murder. You seem to enjoy the melodeath slant, so I'll say to you what I would say to anyone in your position, listen to: At the Gates, Arch Enemy (older stuff), Soilwork (older stuff), and Eucharist. If you haven't heard Whoracle (In Flames' best album), I would recommend that as well. You might also want to try the Forsaken or Strapping Young Lad.

Exactly! Also try Amon Amarth, Nile, Soilwork and The Forsaken. All have reviews on this site.

I second Amon Amarth. Also Ensiferum and Bolt Thrower.

Just close your eyes if you see them live. They look like Screech and pals.

Hypocrisy, Omnium Gatherum and The Duskfall if you like melodeath, and try Vintersorg if you like a touch of black/folk/Viking in there as well. Biomechanical is good if you want something thrashy. I'm fairly sure there's reviews here for all of these.
