I've heard about half of Burzum's S/T and all of Under the Sign of the Black Mark thanks to the act of Illegal Music Piracy.

UtSotBM just makes me wonder why I didn't hear it sooner. And I love "Black Spell of Destruction," but not nearly of much as "A Lost Forgotten Sad Spirit." And I havn't heard too many BM releases from this year, so I thought it was about damned time to pick that one up.

think it was Fenriz who said that if you don't like Under the Sign of the Black Mark, you don't like Black Metal; I think he also mentioned it to be the best BM album ever; I wouldn't agree there but it sure is a killer album.

If memory serves he said that "The Return..." was his favorite... But maybe I've missed something :?

Considering the albums, it could be either. Or both, as I would like to think. :)

They are both marvelous, but I can listen The Return... only in total silence.

Quorthon once said that the first two albums were written in a garage on the outskirts of Stokholm (the famous Heavenshore Studio :wink: ) with no sound-proofing or lighting on a 14 track sound-recording apparature (it was put on sale in 1974) and out of 14 tracks on it only 12 worked :roll:

Another proof that he was genious :)

Ok, CDs arrived more than a week before I expected them. I've only had the chance to listen to Heaven in Flames. And Daniel, you were right, this indeed kicks ass. Though, I'll have to do some inner searching before I figure out if this is better than Distant in Solitary Night.

Shit, I really should stop buying so much records, I'm going to have to start living in a box if this continues...

And this time received the following..

Satanic Warmaster/Clandestine Blaze - Split LP
Nocternity - A Fallen Unicorn LP
Nocternity/Akitsa - Split 7"
Nocternity - Onyx CD

And I also got Nachtmystium - s/t MCD earlier this week.

Heh... I just got this again for Christmas :lol:

Along with Iron Maiden - Seventh Son (finally! \m/) and Evergrey - The Inner Circle.

Now I gotta figure out what I'm gonna replace it with... Hmm...

My most recent purchase would be Marduk's La Grande Danse Macabre. I've heard a lot of mixed reviews of this album, but I like it a lot. :)

Mastodon - Leviathan.. *slowly* growing on me.
Falkenbach - magni blandinn ok megintiri. Now that's what I call Viking metal,
Skyclad - A semblance of normality - seems a somewhat uneven album after a couple listens. the voice definately takes some getting used to.

I finally bought all the presents and thanks to my parents I could afford buying a few CDs:

Dark Funeral - De Profundis Clamavi Ad Te Domine;
Belphegor - Necrodaemon Terrorsathan;
Enslaved - Isa;
Mayhem - European Legions (DVD).

Just bought/won on eBay:
- Kreator - Coma of Souls
- Samael - Eternal
- Pyramaze - Melancholy Beast

I'm winning:
- Leviathan - Tentacles of Whorror
- Carcass Heartwork

And I also bought a Samael "Eternal Flag"/"God Loves Samael" t-shirt. None of it's arrived yet, but should be here soon.

Damn Leviathan auction ends at 2 in the morning... but with all the homework I've got I'll be up till then anyway. Speaking of which, I shouldn't be procrastinating here...

Picked up Infernal Majesty's latest "One Who Points To Death" at their NewYear's Eve show in Vancouver. Incredible album; awesome show! This album is a must-own for anyone who claims to enjoy Thrash/Death as it is near flawless! I would love to see a review of their classic cult-favourite '87 debut "None Shall Defy". They have released 3 incredible studio albums as well as some live stuff over the years and have toured with some of the biggest names in the business ( Cannibal Corpse,Vader, etc.) yet remain virtually unknown. Buy this album you will not be disappointed!
