I know the reviews didn't get much attention when they were done, so I'm guessing there aren't a ton of fans here, but shit, these guys are the perfect death metal band for me. Nihility in particular, is nearly perfect in it's balance. They are one of the few modern bands that, at their best, are truly untouchable, in my eyes anyway. The last album, the Negation, was a bit of a dissapointment. Great drumming and I loved the vocals, but the riffs were very...tame in comparison to Winds of Creation and Nihility. Still a great album for me, and the solos were awesome as usual.

Now that Sauron has left though, I'm...outraged, you could say  The new album will still probably be more enjoyable than a lot of things out next year, but I'll miss those vocals dearly. If they can bring back the riffage though, it could easily top my list.

I've only heard the samples of "Winds Of Creation", but from what I hear, it's excellent stuff and will soon be in my collection.

Is it true that these guys were only around 18 when they recorded this?

Yeah

I think the drummer, Vitek, was 17. It would be impressive to see this stuff coming from anyone, but the age that these guys started is insane. I think they started the band around 14 or something. My brother is 14, he has a band...I wonder

They're really good musicians, and its fun to listen to...for a couple of spins, but Death Metal is extremely boring and has pretty much stagnated. Bands like Autopsy and Masscre arent around any more so its pretty much growling and blast beats, the old Death metal bands were just really really heavy thrash metal. Thats the death metal I prefer.

Honestly, the departure of Sauron does not upset me especially because what i love about the Negation is the riffs and the guitar solos, and the vocals were always take it or leave it. I don't know how much impact he had on the songwriting process, but I suspect I will still enjoy them so long as the rhythm section stays together.

The musicianship is out of this world.
