Rust in peace smells compared to this album dude. In my eye this album can do no wrong, it's packaging, presentation, energy, sound, vibe....it's the ultimate metal package, and defines everything about iced earth within the 3 cd's

My favorite live album :)
The production is excellent, Barlow sings like a fucking BEAST, the crowd is loud and fantastic and the song selection is almost perfect.
What more could you possibly want?! Except maybe to have been there...

Alive in Athens is definitely Iced Earth's most relevant release so far. It contains almost all their best songs and many versions of the songs are best on this disc. Alive in Athens practically makes Days of Purgatory obsolete because everything just sounds better on AIA. Everyone considering to buy this should get the triple-cd version.

Best metal live album ever. Production value is flawless. Makes it seem like there are a million of people in the concert, the energy you feel from the album is amazing. Gives me chills every now and then from listening to it.

I totally agree. A Question of Heaven is ball-tinglely good. Travel in Stygian is amazing and every song kicks ass. I wish I had the thrid disc of this set. My version only had two discs. I still havent head Violate Live.

For The Sake of Revenge and Celebrators of Becoming still top for me, but then Iced Earth aren't my favourite band. A view which was confirmed after hearing The Glorious Burden.
