Post subject: Share your local extreme metal scene
PostPosted: Thu Aug 11, 2005 5:53 pm
Did any ridiculous happened in your local extreme scene?

In my place there are a small association which is for local xtreme bands members. When a band performed in a gig the rest of the members need to come and support. And so as other bands. And there's one rule it's u can't drink alcohol (wtf) Once there are a vocal drink alcohol before a show, then this guy has his butt kicked by the association n' was called to leave the band....
so, what do u think of it?

And I recalled in Germany there's one Christian "black" metal bands has their butt kicked on the show by another true BM bands, and they throw shits on the stage too LOL

so did your scene happened sumthing like that? :D

Where I live the extreme metal scene is mostly our circle of friends roaming around with beer and a cd player...

God damn. Someone needs to put a stop to this nonsense

My local extreme metal scene consists entirely of my band, and possibly one other. Both of us are mainly in songwriting/practicing stages, since they just recently found a vocalist and we just got together a few weeks ago.

There are about five Metal (using the term broadly) bands in Glasgow that the term '-core' isn't attached to. The only decent 'extreme' bands are Dionysus, a sort of atmospheric Black/Power Metal act, and Achren, who play Black Metal without a bass guitar, presumably to get that ultra-grim no bottom end sound. But they're still ok.

And of course we have the mighty Syth, but that's a different kettle of tuna altogether. :D

All evidence indicates the extreme metal scene where I live consists of myself...
here they are either pick-up driving rednecks or 'core kiddies wearing their precious hoodies and the pants that are neither pants nor shorts... what the fuck are they?
Seriously confused attire notwithstanding, I have yet to meet a single person that has even heard of extreme metal.
I tried to turn a few motherfuckers on to Darkthrone, Possessed, etc, to no avail... they responded with a disconcerted look etched on to their mugs and said I was going to go to hell...

I live in a small town/suburbs partially built around and on a small mountain. Surprisingly, only me and my friends wich i can extend to at least 50 person are into extreme metal and for most of them bands ranging from power metal to death and black, those who don't play music are also active in the scene with photography, filmmaking etc...and since one year or two theires also A LOT of high school kids leting their hair grow and sporting dimmu borgir and Manowar t-shirt...everyone as to start somewhere...It's a really cool place to live where you get both the advantage of living in the suburbs of a big city with a lot of cultural activity going on like montreal and the advantage of nature wich we get from the mountain being a national park and the environnent farms...sometimes i just don't get how come theires so much metal head theire when i read others peoples post... 8)

The metal scene is suprizingly good in my area. There are some good bands that play a lot and scare off the posers. Lets see

There's my band Harbinger
-Sauron
-Red Channel
-Iron Fist
- Pirate Law
-Summon
-Nocturnal Fear
-Flesh Gallery

There's a shit load of crappy bands but we pay them no heed.

OMAHA FRIKIN NEBRASKA. We have jack shit, hardcore kids are every where, and I don't think there is any decent death or black metal around. The only live music I get to see is when somebody good comes to town (Rare) or I go see Cellador. Everybody will hear about these guys in the future, if you listen to Power Metal that is.
Omaha sucks.

Once a rock-metal concert happened in a basketball court near my home and some gypsies fucking came and thrashed the stage and kicked some ass. And nobody fucking responded. Fucking cowards.

I hate gypsies.

Well, there's a band of corpse-painted Folkish Melodic Death Metal kids who just got outta High School. They're pretty decent if I do say so myself but nearly everyone who's heard of them that lives around my general area says that they're the best thing since sliced bread, but it's most likely because the Extreme Metal scene around here is extremely lacking, empty and dry.

everything is basically pop punk bands and hardcore bands around me. I live in michigan so there are some death metal bands like Mutilated/Saprogenic and others. But in my school, my band is the only real death metal band

Mexico City is huge so I suppose there must be some areas with a more notable "scene", but where I live the only thing you'll find is happy "punk" wannabes and "I like CoF, thus I'm sooooooo Metal" Hot Topic (we don't have those here [thank god] but they bring shit from the States when they travel there for vacation) "Metalheads".

So... I'm fucked.

The Extreme metal scene is almost the only metal scene in my town,we dont have many power(just one to my knowledge) or heavy metal bands, the best ones are:

Per Tenebras - Black Metal (this band would be realising their demo soon).
Shoggot - Another black metal band.

Old Skull - A Great Death Metal Band.

Comando - Thrash

Bands from Mexico but not from my town.

Pulverized - Death Metal

Zamak - Death Metal

Piraña - Thrash (those guys are great)

Mastema - Black Metal ("The Mexican Satanic Elite"
:D )

The Chasm - Death Metal (not in Mexico but the guys are Mexican)
