The dark master apprehended from high above.

A more attentive listening to the previous Opeth I was playing before a transitioning to something newer. Hope all's well.

Some of Watain's offerings are remarkably powerful, and I only hope that their latest (2022, The Agony and Ecstasy... ), will be the same. I have read some reviews with very high regard for the recording, so I am expecting greatness from it.

Thoughts, Husker?

Watain is definitely a good band. Sworn to the Dark is very good. I've seen them live 7 times I think now and it's always been fun. Lawless Darkness is their peak album. The Wild Hunt was a bit of a let down but not bad by any means. The newest album "The Agony & Ecstasy of Watain" is their best since Lawless Darkness.

Oh yes. Watain's great live. I've seen them live, too, but only once. But with my explorations of progressive music, I have been away from the extreme side of metal for a very long period of time. In any case, I am looking forward to hearing their latest, and yes, Sworn to the Dark is quite excellent. Thanks, Husker.

A personal favourite, and one of I think Death's very best.

A band that was not on the radar for extended periods of time as I never paid attention to them at all. But I was mistaken. I think Mastodon is top-notch.

On my first listen now. This is fine but not especially impressive or memorable considering it's been nearly 25 years since his last. And yet somehow still coming over better than Setjutsu...! Not even threatening him or IM at their best.
