Nowhere as savage or as technical as Monolith but I enjoyed the album
He's taking these psychotic high vocals of his to the next level and the bands tempo and riffs are insanity.
They're still fucking insane live as well

Album was great minus the interludes, which are annoying as fuck. Review makes it seem like they hit that Anaal Nathrakh predictable mediocrity stage, but I think that would be a harsh judgment. The clean vocals aren't quite as shoehorned in.

I've always seen both bands in a positive light. They've got their own unique sound, are hyper technical, and aren't just aping some band that they influenced. Everything they've done post-Harvest Floor is uniquely their own style and they've built a solid fanbase, and in terms of vocals have influenced numerous deathcore bands from Travis's vocal style. I'd say they're one of the best DM bands around.

Never been a huge fan of CD but I liked this a little more than I expected. Found the differing vocals quite good, but it seems like they try to go for a big vocal hook more than a death metal band should. Definitely still prefer this to overhyped newer generation death metal bands like Blood Incantation. It doesn't really affect the music quality, but Goat's criticism of the band's worldview is spot on, and tracks like 'Bring Back the Plague' have not aged well thanks to current events.

I never got into these guys. This record didn't sell me either.

I like the memes and humor here a lot but of course they couldn't just stop with that. The videos of people fighting over toilet paper and going on spring break continue to expose their loathsome worldview: wow they managed to find footage of people behaving badly so that must mean we should all be eradicated!

I think the boys are just taking the piss out of the situation with a little black humor.

Probably not terribly funny to the plague ravaged peoples of wherever, but there doesn't seem to be any true malevolence behind it. At least not from the interviews I've read.

Album wise, Atlas was a solid release for me. The band sacrifices some of it's old muscle for a more sweeping, melodic sound but still manages to sound as hateful and savage as ever. There are downsides of course (enough with the fucking interludes!), but still a cut above the rest in my book. 85/100
