I'm still get into Bathory. I can appreciate this for its simplicity yet sounding gigantic and epic... A pioneer and a legend. But I think if I were old enough and had the opportunity to listen to it around the time when it was first released I would had a much deeper love for it.

Cool stuff, if a bit simplistic at times. Will keep an eye on these three as they continue to evolve their sound. Always does my metal heart good to hear music coming out of all different corners of the world.

Really like the story they tell on that one, and White Cluster is an all-time favorite, but musically I thought they were more interesting on the album before and after this.

I'll give you that; Still Life may be my favourite Opeth album but there's no denying that there are serious contenders to that title.

Not bad. Was curious to see what they'd do after a double-album, and it's interesting; they've started incorporating black metal elements here and there, and it works well for them. Not enough of a change, really, but won't displease fans.
