Walking Dead: another case of too many black folks on the boat...

Sam Elliott being on Justified is the best.

All the Better Call Saul hype has got me to re-watch Breaking Bad. Roughly 4-5 episodes into season 2.

Saw the first ep of BCS and enjoyed it. Reminds me more of the Fargo tv series than BB at moments, looking forward to more.

Completely agreed! Can't wait for the full explanation from Mike as to why he left Philly.

Seen adds for Better Call Saul but I don't think it's premiered in Australia yet, or I've just missed the episodes, either way I'll wait 'til the season is over then watch all the eps back to back.

New Game Of Thrones isn't far away. They'll have to stop killing characters off soon or there's not going to be anyone left.

Lastly I'm really enjoying Galipoli. It's an Australian show which might not be aired internationally. It's not exactly what I'd call historically accurate but does a phenomenal job of depicting how WWI affected our troops, the strain it placed on their families, the rising anger of the Australian people at our government, and how serving together can build strong friendships. Throw in some believable action sequences and you have a great show.

Good to hear about your Galipoli show, RO. One of those historical disasters which seems to have been forgotten more than it should have.

Game of Thrones: don't worry about them killing off too many old characters, but rather that they add too many boring new ones.

House of Cards has been out for a few days now, and I should be wrapping it up tomorrow. As ever, I enjoy Frank Underwood's journey to damnation :dio:

There's actually two shows about Galipoli. The other is solely focused on how I-forget-which Murdoch was reporting the conflict and political censorship of the press. I actually like that one more because it's a faithful albeit dramatised retelling of actual events.

GoT kind of has to add new characters they've killed 90% of the old ones...so long as Tyrion is still around for comedic relief and minor douchebaggery I'll keep watching though.

Yes, that angle sounds better.

Finished House of Cards.

(Non-specific spoilers below)

Gripping as usual, but the writing was not as good as in the prior 2 seasons. I sort of expected this, because the rise to power is inherently more interesting than being in power, and being in power only really becomes interesting during the fall from power. Breaking Bad understood this better, by comparison. The Underwoods actually bored me for much of the second half of the season (Claire's writing, in particular, becomes a inconsistent mess), and the B storyline became the A storyline. The star of season 3 was not the Underwoods.

Plowed through Peaky Blinders this week. Two seasons on Netflix of post-WWI Irish crime family trying to gain a stake of London as other gangs and the British police try to tear them apart. Cillian Murphy is solid in it with Sam O'Neill lending support, but not being great in it. He kinda just leaves you wondering where are the dinosaurs. Overall, the show is fucking awesome, though.

Great, I've been considering watching that one for a while now.

Tonight's episode of Better Call Saul (all about Mike) was the best episode of TV I've seen this year, which isn't saying much, because I don't watch that many shows, but still.

Couple of eps into Peaky Blinders and enjoying it so far but it's not really taken off yet for me. Loving BCS, an episode behind but the talking toilet had me in stitches.

It took a bit for me to get into it, but I was never given a reason to turn it off. By the time it hit its stride, I was hooked.

Been transfixed by Louis C.K.'s Curb Your Enthusiasm meets standup segments show lately. I went into his standup wanting to dislike him, and I still think he is difficult to watch at times, but he's a really talented guy, definitely won me over.

Define difficult to watch.

The first episode of Better Call Saul didn't do much for me. And Walking Dead seemed to have finally hired a horror director, which is totally awesome.

His mannerisms, just the way he moves and stuff: I think a big part of stand up comedy is how the comedian moves and gestures.

Care to elaborate on Saul 'not doing much for you'?

I had little to no interest in watching further after watching the first episode. Yeah, I like Bob Odenkirk, but beyond that if this was anything but a Breaking Bad spinoff I wouldn't have finished the episode.

The first four episodes of Game of Thrones were really, really good albeit tame till the fourth. Really excited for the Justified finale tonight. And I've also been hearing great things about the Daredevil series on Netflix, having great action and being gritty in a well done way.

The old lady has been watching Stargate SG-1 whenever she gets a chance and I kinda loathe it.

Hmm, saw all of BCS and liked it a lot. BB was a slow burner at times, too, and that paid off.

Only saw the first ep of new GoT since I'm being lame and not watching the leaked episodes. Liked the first one, though.

One and a bit episodes into Daredevil, and it's not bad, but really needs to cut down on the lengthy conversational scenes.
