I don't usually disagree with Charles but I do somewhat here. This got a listen from me because he rarely gives albums such high scores, and while this is a good recording, it is hovering somewhere in the 78/100 range for me. Some of the riffs are very good, I like the Godfleshy moments Charles alludes too, or the grungy feel of some of the music too. What I don't like are the vocals, which are mixed way too high, revealing occasionally awful lyrics, and using that raspy style all too prevalent in certain highly self-conscious American bands today. The music as I said, is usually a strength, but some of the songs have basically silence going on for a minute or a minute there at a time, and I don't really get the point when the album is already pushing the overlong threshhold. Talented band sure, but I would argue overrated as well.
