Analysis of 5 metal singers by a person who doesn't listen to metal. I have to agree with what she has to say about Ozzy.

Adveser, or whatever the fuck his name is, beats them all. We should send these people some of his samples.

And Ozzy was never suppose to be this over the top singer like the other 4. He's just suppose to be this everyman, grew up in poverty and sings dirty bluesy rock metal. It'd be like hating on Lemme because he strains his throat too much. Not everything has to sound perfect, sometimes it's better when you hear somebody doing something and you can easily do it along with them. I also highly doubt that she's never heard of Ozzy in the first place. Does she live under a rock?

Either that that, cool read. But not the first time it's been posted here.

I've never been a fan of Ozzy and prefer Dio for Sabbath.

And I like Lemmy, Cronos, Jeff Walker, Dave Mustaine, Dan Swano, David Vincent (pre-1996) etc etc.

Like him or not, there's no arguing how good the early albums or the new one is.

Totally agree that Black Sabbath's first few albums were revolutionary.

Not heard 13 yet, but as I prefer uptempo Sabbath I'll probably stay clear of it.

I do agree with DW's post about Ozzy. He doesn't have that much of a range, but is known for his unique voice and also being a dynamic frontman. I also feel that Ozzy doesn't belong in that list because he is a different kind of singer. They should've taken him off and put Eric Adams instead. I just thought it was pretty nice to have someone who doesn't listen to metal appreciating metal vocalists considering the fact that most people who despise rock/metal regard the vocalists as no talent screamers.

not the first time I've seen that article, Ozzy shouldn't have made the list given he is a different style of vocalist to the others perhaps Michael Kiske could have been substituted for him.

It's not remotely surprising DW that she doesn't know who Ozzy is being a classically trained singer she would have had little to no previous experience with metal vocalists or the genre as a whole.

It's Ozzy fucking Osbourne. He's been on TV, movies, in the news, his wife is everywhere, his kids are kinda popular. I'm not saying she has to know the lyrics by heart for Bark at the Moon, but to not know him at all is just crazy.

Yeah, with DW on this. Who doesn't know about Ozzy biting heads off bats and shit?

I've met people who have never heard of Metallica or Guns N Roses.

Not everyone is interested in music or pop culture. In fact many people aren't.

Though bizarrely this morning they were playing Kaiowas by Sepultura on Sunrise, which is Australia's biggest morning tv show (kinda like "Today" or "Good Morning America" in USA). Was in relation to the cute little weather babe going to Peru.

i find it hard to believe that a musician (of sorts) wouldn't have heard about Ozzy Osbourne.

i do love it when metal gets played unexpectedly. i heard Kataklysm's 'Shadows and Dust' during MTV Cribs once.
