i might actually like this way of ending a season. it actually lets you sleep at night, unlike most season finales, but the episode is still far from boring. shining some early light on the consequences of the 'real' finale is fine by me.

i also think book 4 can fit be compressed a lot in series format. so maybe book 3 isn't 2 seasons but 1.5 or 1.75 i guess.

and now we wait. groan.

Yes sir. Book 7 is tentatively titled "A Dream of Spring" after "Winds of Winter": book 6's title. He has been posting sample chapters of book 6 on his website periodically.

Martin also hasn't ruled out a book 8 as sort of an epilogue to wrap the whole story up, but I would expect book 7 is where the big ending happens.

I also heard that there is a separate Hedge Knight mini-series set in Westeros? Do you know of this?

No idea. Another series? That is interesting.

Didn't enjoy how Arrested Development ended.

New Dexter. I could take it or leave it.

I've got all of Game Of Thrones season 3 recorded, need to find time to actually sit down and watch it all but have other priorities presently. Time differences are a real bitch sometimes i.e. now when the Tour De France is on and I have to stay up until 1am to catch the end of each stage. I've found much of my spare time is spent watching sport lately.

Nor me. Could be the set-up of a movie, but I'm not sure that's a good thing anymore...

I was kinda fed up with after Buster's episode. It just sucks when it's not an ensemble cast, plus how many times do I need to see the same scene over and over again with one little three second nuance added to it.

Yeah. The only character really capable of carrying it alone is Gob, and even he needs other people to bring out his best...

But Game of Thrones ended well? Hah.

Michael Cera and his emphasis towards the end of the season, and especially the finale, bothered me somewhat. And yes, not having the cast around all the time sucks, but taken as a whole a lot of the new material for this season was very, very good. I think there is a tendency to romanticize the original run of the show, given the time between it. The first half of season 3, the Charlize Theron episodes namely, were pretty mediocre.

The show was never flawless, and it has more a few more flaws now, but it still has brilliant moments.

Watching BBC's "The Thick of It" now, anyone else seen it?

Just a couple episodes into it but has a potentially awesome mix of A.D. and "State of Play".

Charlize T was worth it for this gag...

The Thick of It is good, although if you watch a lot it can get tiresome. Basically a swearier Yes Minister, really.

Heh, that one was good.

And so would you recommend Yes Minister, too?

I don't think I said that. And Season 3 is kinda rough, but it at least maintained what the show was always doing. And it has the best episode ever in Mr. F, the one with the Japanese investors, the model town and the jet pack.

Halfway through season 2 of The Wire. So good! I love when Sobotka freaks at Bunk and company when they come to court Marshall everybody.

I mostly agree with you guys. But I liked the season on it's own and still think it's one of the better shows this year.

+1

You ever watch the show before? The end is brilliant IMO.
