After finishing season 4, you should start from the beginning and see how well season 3 transitions into 4. The main problem being how terrible Portia has aged. Her plastic surgery did her no favours.

I went straight on from my rewatch of season 3, and yes, it transitions very well. And yes, that plastic surgery is horrific. Glad they made fun of it, though...

Speaking of the others, you can tell Will Arnett is aging, and Steve Holt, holy shit... . Jason Bateman obviously sold his soul to the devil years ago, he looks almost exactly the same.

Watched the first two episodes of the new Arrested season. First one was alright but the second not so much. I was hoping to see old crew again, and so far I've only seen George and Michael, with a couple of minutes with his son and his mother.
I hope it gets better.

I think the show really hits its stride with the Gob/Tobias episodes, and then it continues with the smaller character individual eps with Lucille, Maeby, and Buster. Rewatching the earlier episodes is proving funnier the second time around with the not call backs, but call forwards? that one picks up upon viewing again.

I do find Michael Cera hard to watch now though, a shame because I actually liked his role in the original.

More thoughts will be coming later, but despite some flaws I laughed a lot and really hope there is more AD in the future.

Favorite line: Throw oranges at it!
Context: At the Funke house Tobias serves "duck l'orange" but the Duck is still alive and quacking angrily at its captor.

Yeah. Needs more Mr Manager/Les Cousins Dangeroux in there - the ten minute dorm voting thing was painful. And yes, he was hilarious in the original...

Trying to limit myself to one a day at the moment. Am warming to Lindsay, must say, now she's dating the Herman Cain guy and we're getting blue jokes...

Good call on the spoiler text size. And wow...one a day, that is some discipline.

My favourite part, so far, is when Ron Howard sees Andy Richter on the elevator and says something along the lines of "is that Andy Richter?" to which Andy replies "Well I'm out."

Also enjoyed his reaction to Talk Show sidekicks being on the "most hated profession list". I actually really liked Andy Richter in this season.

Had to do a google originally when Andy Richter popped up in the old episodes, being a filthy Limey, but yeah, the guest spots have been great generally! Bit disappointed that they got Seth Rogen and whatsherface to play young Lucille and George Snr instead of sticking ridiculous wigs on them - that was hilarious in the old eps.

Also has the amusing realisation today that I always viewed George Snr and Oscar as two completely different people. Jeffrey Tambor's such a pro...

Plowing through the fourth season today. Such a slow start, but getting better. On rewatching the fourth season are the jokes made any better than on first go-around?

Nobody has any comments on last nights episode? They made it a little more brutal than the books with Lady Talisa being there.

SPOILERS

I hadn't commented because I was trying to wait until I became more positive. The leading up scenes were good: the actor playing Walder Frey was hilarious. Later, Roose Bolton was appropriately chilling. When the doors were locked and the Lannister song started playing I thought they were doing very well...then it was HBO being HBO with the magnified violence and too much focus on the fake wife; also didn't like how Arya/Hound's point of view was handled, but I guess that was a logistical problem.

The reaction on the IMDB forums suggested that HBO appropriately stunned and shocked its audience though. And also judging by the anger some expressed, the finale next week has much work to do to prevent Stark people from quitting the show for good. The disconnect between series people and book people on Stannis, particularly, is an issue they need to tackle next episode, so people watching have someone with claim and army they can root for besides a blonde woman still on the wrong continent.

SPOILERS - kinda (too lazy to minimize this stuff on my phone)

Still lots of Starks left. Arya, Bran, Rickon (who actually had lines!), Jon, Sansa. If people stop watching because of a few less Starks around, then this show was never for them in the first place. Come next season, everybody will have forgotten about Robb and Catelyn. Winter is coming after all.

I don't disagree with you at all, Walnut. Jon and Arya are enough to root for, alone. Just observing how some people reacted. Part of the problem is how much HBO built up Robb as compared to his relatively minor role in the books. I think most people will come around sooner or later though, and I look forward to Tyrion's questioning of Tywin's logic next week, should be some good scenes.

SPOILERS - same as above

Think Cold Hands will be in the finale? Or maybe save him for next season? I really can't wait for more Bran and Jon. And Joffreys wedding next season, and the fallout of that, should be good too.

Spoilers maybe a little?

Was going to say, I have read the books past this point but I'm way behind in this season, so perhaps anything spoiler-y could be in small writing?

Lets be honest, something written down several years ago can't really be a spoiler now can it? But I'll play along.

SPOILERS

That would be a cool way to end the season, but could certainly wait as well. They might also end with Lady Stoneheart as Beric is in the castlist for the finale.

I just hope they make it clear where Stannis is headed; his time of sulking after Blackwater is over.

The next part of Stannis' story will be awesome. I'm not 100% finished ASOS (about 40 pages left), Lady Stoneheart? Did I miss something?

Yes it will. And no, you didn't miss anything.
