New Iced Earth forthcoming. "Plagues Of Babylon", hopefully will be delightfully batshit and full of riffs.

Quote:
Tentatively due in October via Century Media Records. The CD will be recorded and mixed in between a string of European festival appearances this summer.

Songtitles set to appear on the CD (among others):

* Plagues of Babylon
* Democide
* Among The Living Dead
* The Resistance
* If I Could See You
* Peacemaker
* Cthulhu
* Parasite

That's exciting!

Hopefully it will be as good as or better than Dystopia.

new Iced Earth? well Dystopia was average but average is godly compared with some of the albums which preceded it, very low expectations indeed for this one

The whole album is already on Youtube... I've only listened to The One Inside and I find that an immensely enjoyable song.
The whole album is fucking amazing. It's awkwardly early-2000s nu metal/industrial tinged like Powerman 5000, but exponentially better.

Heard half of it this morning, ugh, don't like it at all. Repetitive, dull, like early Mudvayne influenced by the worst parts of Fisheye...

It's so fucking good, despite sounding like Zombie's Superbeast with sax! It grows on you while also never getting old.

BBC is hosting two new DEP tracks on their radio shows: http://www.metalsucks.net/2013/04/30/no ... cape-plan/

They are only going to be up for so long I guess so get on that today.

Title track is a rather bland light piece comparable to Black Bubblegum, but minus any hooks. Nothing's Funny has a clean chorus, but is otherwise pretty intense. A weird percussion sound in it like a cowbell minus its tinny sound.

New Watain now has a release date, and a title; "The Wild Hunt". August 19th for Europe and 20th for USA.

I hope they include an epic on this one. I can understand Dystopia lacking one since they probably wanted to make something more straightforward and simple after the two Something Wicked albums, but an epic in the vein of the original something wicked trilogy or Dantes Inferno was what Dystopia lacked to go from merely good to something more memorable. Tragedy and Triumph was kind of a strange note to end the album on IMO.

Sounds good.

These guys keep Melodic DM sounding fresh.

I find Heaven Shall Burn to get really repetitive, really quickly. I struggle to make it through an album without tuning out, which sucks because they do make quality tunes. Does Veto have a bit more variety at least?

It sucks that you're 100% right. I was hoping for something much better cause I usually like Anselmo's work.

The thing sounds like left over bits that were slapped together without any thought.

Also found a link to the new QOTSA song:

http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/ ... r-20130513

It sucks too.

Well, I like all the songs I've heard so far off the new album and looking forward to it.

Not sounding like there's much promise out of either new Sabbath, QOTSA or Anselmo. :(

new The Black Dahlia Murder track. didn't like it all, especially the chorus, which sucks.

The new BDM track is ok for generic melodic DM. Nothing new, nothing exciting but enjoyable in a McDonalds' kind of way.

Yup, it's no thanks. Hopefully the rest of the album isn't so radio friendly manufactured. Can't say I ever saw these guys doing the sell out routine considering they've been rock solid for how many albums now?

i don't think this is selling out at all. it doesn't sound much less heavy than they ever did, sounds more like the creative juices dried up a bit. kind of weird considering their latest album was easily the most original they've done.
