They handled the transition to shorter pieces about as one could have expected, and yes, the Jesu and Godflesh influences were pronounced indeed, I also detected Enslaved in some of the guitars, and a touch of DsO in the drum and bass, but that was about it. Also, very happy the clean vocals were distant and sparing, as this album didn't need to be about that stylistic change too. The more aggressive parts of this album were surprising, and as Zad noted this presented a much more forceful drum performance, but I think I preferred the slower moments overall: such as the doomy industrial waltz from 'A Remedy and a Fever.'

I expect them to mushroom out of the underground with this release, and justifiably so for being such dynamic musicians. Still hate the video and its human aesthetic, but that probably reflects more on me than them. My favorite song is the longest one on the album, but at least for now, the short stuff works for them too. 90/100.

Not big on black metal in general, but I loved what I heard from these guys, excited to give this a listen.

I said they had potential, but this album outright sucks. In defense of Nachtmystium, they held out a lot longer before turning into Glowsticks, raves, and hipster fodder but these guys did no such thing. What makes it worse was they were better musicians than Nachtmystium overall
