Watching the USA version of "House of Cards" through the Netflix free trial. 2 eps in and I have pretty mixed feelings as compared to the original BBC version. That version was 4 eps...this is 13! Already the viewer is getting more character development than was needed as demonstrated in the original. That said, Spacey is very well cast and the breaking the fourth wall stuff is all here and still great, so I'm hooked to the hopefully not so bitter end.

Saw the first ep a few nights ago, liked it a lot but haven't seen original. Think that's on Netflix too though so will try and fit it in after.

I watched the whole Spacey version. Very good on the whole, especially the first episode and eps 7-11 where the tension really builds. Ep 2 was almost bad, and the ending of the season wasn't as fulfilling as I'd hoped, but everyone is already signed on for another season. Spacey is magnetic, though perhaps less chilling than Richardson was in the original BBC version.

i saw that episode and had to fight back the tears of nostalgia. also, i didn't remember Irma having so much sass with the occasional Woody Allen-style quip thrown in.

On episode 4, loving it. Like you said, Spacey is amazing, always loved him.

Watched the original X-Men Animated Series from like '93 nearly all the way through, but apparently the fifth season wasn't originally planned and so the animation isn't the same and the stories are pretty shitty too. Quite a bummer to be honest.

He really is. But honestly, the guy who really stood out to me was the actor playing the Congressman from PA, Peter Russo.

Just finished season six of Burn Notice. I almost cried. Bruce Campbell holds a special place in my heart.

the last couple of How I Met Your Mother episodes were quite lame. the show is going downhill. i know some people here never liked it, but to me when it was at its best it was excellent stuff.

saw episode 1 of Arrested Development. it got a few smiles out of me but that was it. does it grow on you or something?

currently getting my comedy fix from Community season 3. what an awesome show.

If you like Community stick out Arrested Development. There's a lot of subtle almost hidden humour. If you're not paying attention, you'll miss it.

Agreed with Wally. And I didn't think the AD pilot was laugh out loud funny either, Azreal. But it sets up a premise they get a lot of traction with in later episodes.

The way AD does humor is really set up for not getting it after a single episode, which is probably why it was doomed. The jokes are like layers spanning across episodes. It takes like three episodes for an entire joke to play out. Some of the tropes are consistent throughout like Cecile's drinking, but otherwise stuff takes a while to develop. It really sets it up for heavy replay value. Like I've watched it through three times and I still find new things each go round.

I've been watching a shit ton of Trailer Park Boys lately. I didn't love the first season, but thought it had its moments. Now I'm up to season five and I just fucking lose it in every episode. Just watched the hash driveway one where Ricky lights the driveway with a blowtorch and huffs it with a two liter bottle top. It's delivery was perfect. I would have missed it had I not remembered EdgeofForever mentioning that scene years ago.

Is the Conky episode your favourite? It was the greatest thing ever here when it first aired.

Really? I didn't like it that much. My favorite episode is the one with Steve French the mountain lion eating their field.
