It truly is a bizarre mixture of 1980s Speed Metal with direct Celtic Frost rip offs.

But for serious, I think they did Cult is Alive, Fuck Off and Die and then another one in rapid succession, but they haven't had a new album in a few years.

at the notion of Darkthrone doing anything for any reason other than because they want to, or even more ridiculous, for the money.

At this point, they can do whatever the hell they want, they have left their mark, and I think it's a safe bet that Fenriz and NC ain't losing any sleep over whether or not guys like you and Mr. Magoo here like it.

I think all of darkthrones albums have been pretty fucking radical and this new track is no exception.

Only six tracks!? Who do these guys think they are? The guys who wrote A Blaze in the Northern Sky?

Holy shit. So them writing punk albums was fucking stupid. Them writing an NWOBHM album is fucking awesome. I'm kinda caught by surprise here. This album is actually kinda cool. Okay The Ones You Left Behind has some awful vocals and I don't like Dead Early's vomit-y sounding vox, but overall the riffs are solid fun here. One spin in and this isn't a bad release at all, ten more minutes left of Cross Unturned. I may get pissed at it by the time it is over.

Mind you I also really liked their punk stuff at first too, but it wore thin really fast.

and celtic frost is one of the sickest bands ever...and celtic frost worship riffs make bands even more awesome.

I have no complaints with any band ever trying to rip off celtic frost or imitate their music. Celtic Frost is the shit as is Darkthrone.
