they do need to kill off a major character, maybe Dexter's sister and then have Dexter go completely off the rails and completely give in to his dark side

They had their chance to do that. They pulled the punch. If they did that, he wouldn't have anything to stay noble for; it would quickly devolve into him just being like the folks he kills. Because he obviously doesn't care about his kid. Most awkward television parenting ever. The writers are kicking themselves every morning for ever having written kids into the storyline.

completely agree. the walking dead has to be the worst show that we can't help but watch.

The footballness of it is jus really an excuse to get them all together all the time. Season 2 is better, and longer. Haven't seen 3 or 4.

That's basically been the consensus floating around for a while. Everyone, myself included, has been banking on it getting better and now it has an actual storyline and no need to dwell on inner-group drama and it's just not doing anything. Ugh.

@Burn Notice: I really enjoy the show as a nice action, no thought drama. Bruce Campbell keeps me coming back to it all these years, but I enjoy it. They've definitely been chasing loose strings in terms of where to take this but being the penultimate season, it's heading towards something it seems.

The show really needs to be watched in its entirety or it really would be just action for the sake of itself. But if you're caught up then yeah watch the new season.

Doakes was always cool. Which made their season 2 showdown the highlight of that season and really the moments that made this show one of my favorites. I saw season two before I saw one and albeit not as good, it had its badass moments.

Now what's on Sunday nights on HBO? Game of Thrones doesn't start until April I believe.

March 13th, I believe. Dexter is on Showtime down here and they should start playing Shameless in January which is like the most fun show ever. If you haven't, I would catch up before it starts on the 8th.

I really wanted to like Game Of Thrones, but gave up after two episodes. I found it somewhat boring, with a fuckload of characters and stuff. I' ll give it another try over the holidays now that I got it all on DVD.

Game of Thrones is not a show to watch if you are stupid. Stupid people can't handle the amount of characters and story lines. Stupid people are stupid.

We don't get Showcase or Starz here, it all goes to HBO Canada. As for Shameless, I'll see if its on demand here. How many seasons is it?

Two seasons of twelve episodes, I think. The debauchery is good light hearted fun so you can probably do other things while it's playing if you feel so inclined. It's not a gripping show like Dexter or Game of Thrones, but it can pull the heart strings at times.
