Dusk... and Her Embrace, probably because it was the first album I heard from them.

Many years back I was fond of that album. Haven't listened to them in many ages now...

It used to always be Midian. That middleground album between black and gothic heavy metal that they are now. I just loved Cthulhu Dawn. Haven't listened in years.

Yeah I remember liking Midian's art cover and also liking the album quite a bit. Good ol' times...

Damnation and a day

Midian

More or less a tie between the two, Damnation has a bit more filler and the first two are ok as well.

I would probably lean towards Midian, though I also think Damnation and a Day was probably his most ambitious undertaking.

Also like the Cradle to Enslave EP, probably one of their best songs there.

have to look at CoF as two different bands really, the black metal stuff which I like a little more like Principle Of Evil, Dusk and Cruelty, then the transitional stuff and what they're doing now, Midian is the best of that lot for mine Damnation second and with the exception of a couple songs here and there everything else is easily forgettable, I'd have liked them to explore the style from Midian and Damnation a whole lot more but oh well

Dusk and Her Embrace, Cruelty and the Beast and Midian.

Love all that stuff.

Dusk, Vempire, Cruelty are all good... if you can get past Dani's vocals, that is.
They were good at what they do, but my favorite CoF material is ther symphonic pieces off of Damnation and a Day (A Scarlet, Witch, The Mordant Liquor of Tears, A Bruise upon the Silent Moon)... that and their logo

They have a top notch logo.

Seriously? I think that logo is extremely ugly to be quite frank.

Really? Weird, I always liked it, but what can you do, everybody has their own tastes.

One of the best logos from the old days of BM comes from Emperor. I think it's genius.

Agree with most of the releases listed here as being the best from this band, Damnation, Vempire, Principle, but I'll pick Dusk... as my favorite. I even liked Godspeed... a fair amount.

So have we reached a consensus that this band outlasted their much compared peer, Dimmu Borgir? I sort of liked their first two, but will probably only remember Enthrone Darkness Triumphant from that band.

I liked Dimmu up to Abracadabra or whatever it was called. I just couldn't get into it.
