Only 4 episodes in and I can dig it, I just don't like the weekly bad guy. Also the corny ass background music. That's what was cool about The Shield, no corny tv background music. Kills the atmosphere.

By the end of the season there is a single bad guy plot, but it maintains the formula of him having daily tasks to do as a marshal.

Nazi guy? I knew that it would boil down to that. Main reason I chose to try Justified was, besides Olyphant, Shane from the Shield. Walt Goggins.

Walt Goggins is so awesome. He played a trans hooker in the current season of Sons of Anarchy. Fucking hilarious. It's a mix of skinheads and meth cooking. It's fucking the hollers of Kentucky. It had to have been that. I'm two episodes into the second season and it's still playing wrap up from the first.

Well then, I definitely look forward to catching up then. Sounds like good times.

And Gibbons is a badass. A much more enjoyable character of Olyphant than his role in Deadwood.

I was only watching Deadwood for Swearingen. Olyphant wasn't bad, and he served a particular role, but he wasn't a hero that I could get behind. I need to rewatch it at some point.

Oh I can agree with that, Al was the best character by far. But I still enjoyed Olyphants character, he does that type so well.

I'd love to rewatch Deadwood but the dvds are goddamn expensive and its not on netflix or zune marketplace. I could always download it, but that's not cool...

And that's the thing about Justified is that Olyphant is a gun slinger badass in it. I'm hoping it escalates in the way that Sons has done. It starts off a little hokey and then becomes a serious drama.

Bold claim: Sons of Anarchy is the best show on television right now with this current season being as amazing as it has been. The show may started off as a weak dude soap opera has now become an intricately complex, layered story that isn't really matched by anything right now. Game of Thrones is cool, but rather straightforward and Boardwalk never grabbed me, but seriously can't think of anything that even comes close to how awesome Sons has become in balancing warmth and darkness while leaving you always guessing.

Game of Thrones is straight forward?

You should read the books, although you wont, just to see all the shit they leave out. Far from straight forward.

As for Sons, I've only seen the first 3-4 episodes. I liked it, and have been told numerous times to watch it. I'm just in the same boat as Deadwood, I'll watch when it's added to netflix or buy it off zune marketplace (xbox).

I need to see what all the hub-bub is about.

Just don't ever knock GoT again!

I'm not saying GoT is bad. But compared to how up in the air the motorcycle club has been for basically the last two seasons, it can't compare to the drama that Sons is spewing. And Sons starts off slow. How I got into it was watching the third and fourth season then going back to the first and second, because I really wasn't impressed by it. They didn't realize how much action was necessary to make the show awesome. They fail to give you a reason why to love the characters that comes much later on, I feel like.

Sons is a warring kingdom. The Sons, the Real IRA, Mexican cartels, Mexican bike gangs, black bike gangs, black gangbangers in Oakland, white supremacists, the cops, the FBI, the sheriffs, the CIA. Then you throw in family drama and shootouts... Shit is crazy.

Dudes who do the show Spartacus are going to do a "spin-off" series once Spartacus' final season airs. Will be about Caesar. Won't be as good as Rome, but I bet it'll be awesome.

And the final season of Spartacus, which finally includes Caesar and his posse, debuts January 25th. Spartacus: War of the Damned is what this season will be called.

Link doesn't work here, but know the bit you mean I think just from the title. Loved Nathan, miss him completely. Also, love how many people die in horrible ways and how ok the show is with it. Almost amoral in ways, although the characters clearly are running on their own morality systems.

Season 1 Finale from the top of the roof of the community center. "It breaks my heart; you're wearing cardigans!"
