new SAVAGE MESSIAH album available for free download at earache records (direct link).
Their previous was thrash metal but it seems the band has soften things up a bit with more heavy metal influences on Plague of Conscience.

Kinda saw this coming because they went from releasing an album a year to being silent for 4 years. Still lame.

Seems bogus that he should be charged for such a thing. I see this as security's fault for failing to stop the fan from getting on stage.

Suicide Silence's Mitch Lucker died in a motorcycle accident. I think I might be the only fan on here, but dude was way too young.

Never got into them the way I did some deathcore bands, but that's horrible. RIP.

What deathcore bands did you get into?

Mainly the ones that made an effort to not be too deathcorey, heh. Bleeding Through, The Agonist (if they count), that album by Annotations Of An Autopsy... Despised Icon were pretty good.

I remember seeing them with Job for a cowboy, Stick to your guns, and some local opening bands back in 05 in Lake Havasu. They played most of their material from their early EP, and a few songs they had written prior to their first LP the Cleansing. Mitch comes in and they open with Destruction of a statue and that's all it took, I was crowdkilling scene kids and smashing myself into anyone I could. It's kind of sad in that aspect, but I can only imagine how his kid feels. I'm rather indifferent to his death, but R.I.P nonetheless.

That's basically what happened when I saw them a year and a half ago. Plus, some crowdsurfing. This guy had a really awesome presence on stage and those schmoes would be silly to try and continue without him.

^Apparently, Glorior Belli facebooked about how it's good news that Lucker died. I kinda loled but kinda distasteful.

New news: Chris Barnes suckerpunched Travis Ryan then fled to his tour bus. Cattle Decap dropped off the tour.

Apparently, the singer from Gaza, Jon Parking, was accused of rape over Tumblr: http://exclaim.ca/News/gaza_singer_jon_ ... llegations

I'm conflicted. I would understand why a woman wouldn't want to go through the police in terms of it being a way of having to relive the ordeal, but I don't understand why tumblr is how she handles it...

You know the left more than me Trapt, is there commonly a belief that the police are agents of capitalism/won't handle it properly? That's behind the British Socialist Workers' Party's travails atm, handling rape accusations themselves... I think people should be encouraged to go to the police in these regards, and the police should be encouraged to take it seriously (which as far as I'm aware, they do, in England at least). False rape accusations can destroy lives, it's a serious thing to accuse someone of, but obviously it's also a serious crime to commit. No easy answers.

I don't think this is an instance of a Left thing and I wouldn't conflate the two situations. Maybe they're comparable.

The woman removed all of her blog posts related to the situation. She apparently confronted Parkin and he responded "violently". She's a self-proclaimed riot grrl, which may lead her to being skeptical of dealing with the police. Maybe. Not in terms of the police are the repressive arm of the capitalist machine, but simply they're pigs in that very crass punk dismissal of them.

But what it seemed like more, to me at least, in reading between the lines is that she didn't want to involve the police insofar as she didn't want to go through the taxing process of divulging information to the police, going through a rape kit examination and the rest of the process of a trial for something that is so emotionally devastating that you would just want to bury it. She may have showered afterwards which would negate any material evidence that there was and hence would have no actual evidence to bring to bear against Parkin hence it becoming a shouting match between the two via the law. It was interesting how she didn't want to file charges, but simply wanted Parkin to step down from Gaza as a politically sorta-leftist band.

Fans kinda posted comments calling her claims bullshit simply because she wasn't willing to file formal charges, but she has no obligation to put herself through that.

The SWP thing is the fact that a misogynistic, anachronistic old boy's club still exists and mouths as if they are bearers of equality when ideologically, they're rooted in ways of thinking fifty years past their prime.
