Kinda stale.

I love Travis Ryan and that track is so boring. Plus the drumming is like a weird Soulfly impersonation of a CattleDecap track.

Now having read the review, I guess I should just keep giving it listens and maybe it will click and stop seeming to limp and repetitive.

Soulfly is weak.

I liked "Enslaved". I Thought the only bad, 'throw-away' song on it was the one where all his kids or whatever played on it (Revengencer(sp?)). But other than that, it's the kind of thrash album that keeps you going strong through a long drive home in rush hour traffic. (also, was very cool that they played 4 of the new songs when I saw them live back in April, including one of my favorites "Plata-O-Plomo".

Wondering if u are already familiar with their 'back catalog'? I've no idea if their setlist for u in 2 weeks will be similar to the setlist when I saw them 3 months+ ago, but the setlist as well as the basic accounting of my recent live Soulfly experience is contained here (my shitty blog)... http://monoblogist.blogspot.com/2012/04 ... on-ky.html

*note in the review that though the crowd was kinda sparse, Soulfly put on a top notch show. Hope u get to see them and hope it kicks-ass!*

Yeah, they're playing down in Covington at the Madison Theater on the 13th, with basically the same opening bands, I think. If those are his son and stepsons' bands...

I really love Dark Ages and Conquer but before that and after that I haven't been very interested, barring the Puciatto song. Hope to hear some Frontlines. How do the duet songs sound live minus the awesome guest contributions?

well, not sure I heard any songs from those with guest singers, thankfully they skipped "Rise of the Fallen". I also like "Frontlines", but it wasn't featured at the April show.
