Saw it last night, it was magnificent. It was the "Empire Strikes Back" of the series. Just all sorts of wrong shitty things happen then a real hell of an ending. This movie was epic in a way i was not expecting. SO many questions after the ending!!!

Think somebody will do a Robin movie?

I don't think so. Nolan appears to try and avoid cliches whenever possible. Robin is one of those characters where it would be impossible to avoid the cliche. My guess is they have him adopt the Batman role like Robin does in the comics or have him do a series of Nightwing movies.

But I'm not holding my breath. I think Nolan is done with Batman and will focus now on the new Superman movie(s) which look to be awesome by the way.

if someone can make Superman cool, it has to be Nolan... but still. i think that, fundamentally, Superman is boring. he's god-like, and not watchmaker god-like like Dr. Manhattan or something, proper intervening, solve-every-goddamn-problem godlike. i know he did the turn back time thing in the christopher reeve movies, but still.

Kinda disappointed. Still good though, just some wtf moments.
As someone who really enjoyed it what was so disappointing? I was nicely surprised that Bane could hold the move together as a villain. Well devised.

Said tragedy aside, did rather enjoy The Dark Knight Rises once I saw it. Bane was excellent (English baddies = win) if less compelling and charismatic than The Joker (but like that performance was going to be topped...) and even Hathaway wasn't too annoying as Catwo- whatever her character's superhero name was! Spotted ending coming a mile off, and Bane's exit was a bit easy, but we can't have everything. Liked the League of Shadows tie-ins, liked Scarecrow's cameo, loved Caine (heart of the series?) and all in all loved the series.

Dark Knight > Dark Knight Rises > Batman Begins

Heh, apologies, someone else mentioned Robin so assumed the whole 'spoiler alert!' thing was still en vogue. I'll go back to small-texting stuff in future...

It's not like scarecrow has a huge part.

Death or exile?

We will not go out on that ice, so death.

Death... by exile.

Everything just seemed to happen so fast which is weird because the movie is over 2 hours. But like he's climbing out of the holes and the next scene he's in Gotham with Catwoman? Hes suppose to be broke, how did he ge back so quick? And Bane? He's gets shot and that's it? I know the bike has big guns, but that was rather lame. Those are my two biggest gripes, not huge, just something I thought was off. Still an awesome movie that I'll be seeing again soon.

Yeah, I'm sure broken backs take a little more mending than having some fellow punch you then hang you up for a bit. Still, I'm not a doctor, what do I know...

I meant broke as moneyless, completely forgot he had his back broken before all that.

I have a lot of problems with TDKR. I mean, I like it, but by no means is it a perfect film.

Watched The Dark Knight ( 2008 ) last night, first time since I saw it in the cinema when it came out. I liked it a little better this time but I still consider it just an entertaining movie, nothing more. Some good acting and action scenes, Bale annoys me to hell, and some obvious flaws. I'm probably going to see TDKR, but without any expectations and all this fanboy excitement and it's probably for the best.

Why does everyone hate on Bale? He's such a good actor and a great Batman. And don't say his growl...

I thought Tom Hardy was a much better villain and gave a much better performance than Ledger. With a mask like that on, limiting your facial expressions, his entire demeanour has to come from body language and intonation, and Hardy pulled it off magnificently.

Although, Batman's back was broken in the comics by Bane, it wasn't necessarily broken in the film. Displaced vertebrae was all that was mentioned.

And yeah, I could see DW's point, but Bane's quick disposal was a way of getting rid of him without Batman killing him. Because I don't know how Batman could restrain him. And as for Wayne getting back to Gotham easily, he was on the lam for the a few years in Batman Begins, I'm sure he could figure out a way to stow himself in a Wayne Enterprises plane, but I guess how he got through the blockade is a little tricky...

If you've never seen the original (or rather, the original remake....carpenter's version from '82) then do yourself a favour.

The prequel/remake is but a shadow of the epic amazingness that is The Thing ('82).

Oh yes, I've seen the original many times. One of my top 5 favorite horror films as a matter of fact! I still enjoyed the new version / prequel for what it was, but then again I went in watching it with incredibly low expectations.

Harsh Times

I really like this movie. It's from the creators of Training Day. I've seen it quite a few times and saw it with a buddy a couple of nights ago. Staring Christian Bale which in this movie is one fucked up motherfucker.

It's good, I think. It's awkward.
