Three days more and I'll be on vacations

On a mushroom trip I take it?

Closed the bar. Kinda drinking the rest of the bottle of Kraken now. Makes me wonder if we ever had a booze thread before...

We've never had a booze thread. It might get some conversation going, though. Everyone likes booze!

At the risk of being ostracized (and branded and exiled, at least), I actually don't. I seldom drink anything harder than a simple beer. When I do, it's either the result of peer pressure, or because I'm miserable.

What's with this mushrooms bullshit? It keeps getting brought up. No you need to experience your brain as it is awake and also in the same wave pattern as sleep. Yeah, you get to ride the dragon.

We've had a booze thread. I don't remember what it was called though.

Anyone else addicted to energy drinks? I tried to stay away from them for awhile, but since I don't drink coffee they have become my get up and go drink for that first few hours at work. Monster's are the drink of choice at the moment...

Indeed, both things. I'm planning to go to the forest this same weekend. Then, to enjoy a whole month doing practically nothing

Monster is too sugary for me, I like Burn. Although I'm getting tired of energy drinks. I don't believe for a second that anyone gets energized from drinking them, same goes for coffee.

Me neither. Pretty much always prefer tea or hot chocolate and alcohol is more expensive too.

Dude, every time you've posted a sample everyone has told you their shit and you always come up with some shitty excuse like, "Yeah you're right guys, I need to go back into my cave and rediscover my inner self" or whatever.

During World War II the Nazis were obsessed with efficiency and kept track of everything and studied how to maximize labor. Because these studies were not concerned with the marketability or commercial aspects of the results, there is no incentive to conduct anything but an honest examination of the facts. They dispensed Niacin (one of the Vitamin B's) and Caffeine to workers and noticed a significant increase in productivity. The fact that they used Methylamphetamine and it was extremely good for this purpose and that it did not make the B-Vitamin and Caffeine regiment disappear suggests their studies were easily proven by observation. an energy drink is of course a shitload of caffeine and b vitamins.

This actually sounds half believable.

The effect wears off quickly, eventually your efficiency will level out and if you stop drinking coffee/energy drinks, your productivity will be lower than ever before. But people love drinking energy drinks and coffee, because it's cool!

While I agree that energy drinks and coffee can be used for a quick boost in productivity (never worked for me), I believe that the potential advantages of these products are being ignored and they are simply used to make a statement about your identity. If you need extra energy EVERY single day, coffee is not going to work, actually, nothing is going to work in the long run. Caffeine is just another useless, albeit cool, addiction like nicotine.
