On a break from singing. I've broken 2 dynamic mics with my voice because it is way too much bass frequency information when done properly. I'm either going to have to see how a condensor handles it or build a highpass filter to psychically wire into the mic chassis. We are talking 3-20Hz are massively boosted even without the proximity efect. To compare, it would be like expecting to turn a 3" speaker into a sub. It's gonna blow up...

'Psychic Wiring' would be a great album title.

What an odd typo, And a great idea. I'm seriously using this. I have about 4 concept albums written, and this fits in with that very well. Thanks.

I meant physically wire, which is close

Yeah, a high pass should do the trick next time. I actually have a cap and a resistor sitting in a specific place for this that I was gonna use elsewhere to prevent a cheap two way from blowing it's 5 inch woofer.

I need to work out the bugs technically so I am not compensating for it when I sing. This is the biggest problem with a voice that spans 3hz to more than 48000hz. It's tough to record. I might actually need to set up a two-way microphone system with crossovers to get this to happen involving a kick drum mic and a condensor.

Don't forget a new flux capacitor. That's key.

I bought a cheap Samson mic and it's design is such that it high-passes most of the bass anyway. Much better than the other brands.

I actually think now most of the vocal bandwidth is coming from gorilla gripping the damn mic itself. If I grab a mic and squeeze TIGHT and record nothing, I get a resonant frequency (essentially my own vibrational frequency, which is around 11Hz and continues well past the nyquist. This is an early test so I don't know right now whats coming from this resonance and what is coming from my voice. The fact that my microphone is hot because of the pre-amps' mismatched transformer voltage due to capacitance between the windings is probably the reason the mic can pick up the vibrations from my hand into the mic chassis at all.

In other news, one must sing using their back muscles and not so much the abdominal muscles. I think this was the big mistake I kept making that I've been looking for and to correct for years because emulating other singers does not work very well doing it this way. In other words, your own voice comes out even if you try to copy someone else. Of course this will result in massive improvements to tone and pitch.

BTW, we already have flux capacitors. They are called magnets. They just NEVER discharge though, unlike "condensers." The term flux capacitor is a joke that I don't think everybody got when they saw This Island Earth. One wouldn't need to store flux because it can be tapped in massive quantities already naturally without any help from electronics technology.

NO, go watch This Island Earth from the 50's or 60's or watch the MST3K movie. It came from that. He gets one in the mail and a catalogue of similar parts and orders all of them to build the interrociter so he can talk to the aliens. His ability to figure out how to find the parts and build the thing was the test to see if he would be invited to a "summit" to discuss whatever the fuck happened after all that.

Umm Doc had a flux capacitor way prior to the 50s or the 60s. In the third back to the future, they were in the Wild West. Like the 1800s Wild West.

I'm pretty sure they had flux capacitors in the movie 10,000 BC, dudes.

Why, why am I doing this?..

10 months? Remember someone always has it worse, for example, a poor soul eternally damned to watch 10,000 BC.

Lesson from today: If something can go wrong, it will go wrong, and if someone can fuck something up, they will.

Had really vivid and violent dreams last night. In first one I had an Akita/Burmese mountain dog (maybe a burmese mountain dog named "Akita"?). Every time I took it outside it'd get attacked by people/bears/etc and I would try to defend it. Stressful! Brutal slaughter of mean things trying to hurt Akita!

Then in the next there were three transvestite/androgynous/etc guys/girls who were harassing my friend so we fought them and I broke one of their hands and threw another under a bus. (They hung out at the school's bus loop because knew my friend had to go there.)

Then in the next one my friends had mean landlord who used capital punishment so we had to beat them up. I used magic to kill one of the landlord (made his clothes tie him up then set them on fire). Then I talked to the landlord's wife and she was very sad so that made me feel bad so we let her still live in the house. Then my ex walked by wearing nothing but a blanket and I noticed her boobies were big and round and smooth and so I took her into a bedroom and sexytimes.

wat

freud i need u
