I was off for the past two days which made for a nice 4 day weekend. Today, I spent much of the afternoon watching Star Trek: TNG on SyFY and it's made me realize how much I miss this show.

Focuses mainly on nutrition and health. Will start out with web-based consultations, and expand to organizing courses and personal consultations. Changing peoples lifestyle is the overall goal.

Becoming frustrated by being accepted into graduate programs that have no idea what they can offer me in terms of funding. Stupid budget issues.

The Persian new year is coming and I always get cash from my parents so I am spending it on albums. What a massive surprise, you say? Incidentally, I said the same thing! Preposterous!. It's snowing here in Calgary but the weather isn't that cold and it has been an amazing winter with minor periods of depressive coldness (although, I have never felt depressed by the weather). I'm Going to have some chocolate cake and a sandwich of honey-glazed ham. Should be a good evening! I might watch the Godfather, too. We'll see.

Either sick or really lazy. Haven't done much other than read the last week and a half. No energy or motivation.

IDK. Fairly good. Got drunk and starting screaming Slipknot songs as loud as possible. Oddly, my voice feels great today.

I take magnesium because someone under hypnosis said it was important and I believe everything I read in a Dolores Cannon book. I got a book on vitamins for a buck and it says that it relaxes muscles (specifically eases tension)

You see, I would have never taken that crap to begin with and noticed it was beneficial without some sort of crazy faith-based horseshit argument to go with it (heart health? who gives a fuck about that) sign me up for the increased psychic ability pills please. So I took it on an ounce of faith and come to find out, yeah, they do exactly what I need. Strengthen muscles, make nerves work faster and relieve tension and stress. Thanks again Olaf for the lyrics. I'll take someone's word for it that wrote the albums that I imagined.

So not hungry and so tired. The University of Cincinnati's sociology department brought me down to the city over the weekend. Fed me well, bought me tons of booze and tried to really sell me coming to their program. I'm just afraid I don't know statistics well enough to compete plus I don't want to ground my claims in empirical research. I like making broad over-arching claims in philosophy. I'm really concerned about having to alter the goals that I have in terms of research. I want to make certain claims in the future and if I can't do that in sociology because I can't quantify it then it will just frustrate me.

Also still kicking around an offer from George Mason's Cultural Studies program. I just need to hear back on funding from these places.

Now, I really need to start busting ass on schoolwork and prepare for my presentation this weekend in Baltimore. It never ends.

Was actually going to post an update, by spooky coincidence... I'll be seeing her this weekend, we're going to the same conference! Her mother's also gotten wind of me and invited me around for tea, some time, which is sweet. Not to live up to any Brit stereotypes or anything...

Changes in the division will definitely help but they are also deep in young talent.

The other day I was wearing a pair of gray boxers, and I was picking at my ass crevice all day and when I took a shower after work I had a brown crescent moon in the back of my boxers. Couple that with ball sweat and it was something to behold

I thought you were already a grad student. What's your plan on that front?

(I need to decide on this shit soon...I'm an Econ/Latin American Studies double major. Advisor told me I can do anything but medicine)

My life is pretty good. Spring break starting, been having sexies, drinking and smoking a lot while also working hard. I'm really fucking up in my statistics class, but other than that I'm doing pretty well.

I'm currently in a terminal Master's program. I'm batting around offers from PhD programs now but none of the schools from my original field, philosophy, accepted me. So huge academic change along with huge life change. UC sent me the money details and they are pretty solid but I think right now I'd rather be in Virginia than Cincinnati. Again. So waiting on George Mason to offer me money and determine if I can live off of the amount.

In an hour, I have a conference presentation and I didn't eat because I was doing final edits on my paper. I just don't want to eat actually. I'm starting to feel like a fat ass due to a burgeoning beer gut which doesn't help.

Hearing about friends getting into PhD programs is making me jealous (or at least wish I'd had that extra motivation to get application stuff done, although at the time I wasn't sure I even wanted to apply) and not being super happy with my girlfriend is making me wonder about life. Crossword puzzles, music, knitting, dancing and reading Nabokov/DFW are the forecast for the next few days though so that seems nice. My hobbies sound funny when I list them.
