They were great when I saw them in Calgary .. Stu is a great vocalist, awesome pick-up for Jon. Stage presence is a tad rough around the edges, but voice makes up for it.

Symphony X I actually enjoyed more, great presence, top notch musicianship.

Iced Earth would be a good live band if they played only Burnt offerings, Travel in Stygian, Angel's Holocaust, The Hunter basically any of their non shitty mid-tempo sons and ballads. I saw some of their live footage and I was impressed.

Symphony X is headlining tomorrow night and they're the band I really want to see anyway. I'm not looking forward to seeing Iced Earth because at this point I'm just tired of hearing Jon's lyrics surrounding governmental conspiracy theories that aim to exterminate the human race. I saw Stu a few years ago when he was singing with Into Eternity and his range was impressive but I wish he would just choose one style and stick with it. His vocal acrobatics are just annoying.

Sorry guys but there's nothing 'metal' about a migraine and/or dealing with it. I experience migraines that make me retreat to absolute quiet and darkness, sometimes even cause vomiting. Believe me, I wish I could have gone last night.

I'm very sorry to hear that, dude. My sister also has migraines. It is very, very difficult and I can only observe from my sister.

On my way to see In Flames for the first time!!! Right here in Cape Town!!!! And I only heard last night. Damn I'm exited. And then some of my metal head friends are like, no its too expensive (about $45) or they will be too tired for work on Monday. Come on!!

I caught them live in Spokane twice while I was there. They have great energy, and their songs come across better. Even though I am not huge on STYE or RTR, they pull them off fairly well live.

Just back from In Flames and it was excellent. As you say great energy and the songs do sound better live. It was a warm evening, close to 25 degrees Centigrade and you could see the poor Swedes suffer! Haha. Great show!!

Heavy TO and Heavy MTL have never had purely awesome lineups, but this years may be the worst yet. Headliners are Slipknkt, Marilyn Manson, System of a Down, Killswitch Engage, and Lamb of God. I just vomited.

But! There are some bands that save it, like: High on Fire, Exhumed, Origin, Suicidal Tendencies, and, this is a big one and the only reason I'm going: OVERKILL! 'nuff said.
