I know the album is slated for a review coming up here, but did anyone else feel a bit letdown by the album? It kind of lags at some parts (the first part of Going somewhere, the titletrack), and the songwriting just lacks the dazzling flare of their past work. What are your opinions on the new vocalist, as a whole the album just seems less vibrant as their past work. Am I the only one that feels like its a stepdown for the band?

I still haven't checked out this band. I think The August Engine is a good place to start?

I don't feel that way about it.
I find it slightly better than Church/Fields of Broken Glass.

Mixed feelings. I like the new singer more than the Church/Fields guy, which makes the album as a whole more pleasing than those two, but there's no gutwrenchers like "Butchertown" or "Fields pt 2".

Isn't the "other guy" Scalzi from Slough Feg?

Shows how much I pay attention. I literally had no clue, I thought it was just Scalzi and this new guy.
