I don't think St Anger was a "sell out" album. It just sucked.[/quote]

I Agree, it sucked big time, but St Anger is a step in a good direction (violent one).

I haven't listened to it yet, but i liked the other ones.
I won´t buy them, but I listen to them. no problem there.

Its a good band, like so many other's, it has some good tracks and others very bad.

But I'm definitly NOT a Nu Metal fan.

This album I do not know what to expect, but i'm also, not very concerned about it.

Are you actually talking about SOAD when you say they have zero sense of dynamics?? That statement alone is indicative of someone talking about a band they've never really listened to.

That's actually not a System Of A Down song, but a Wu-Tang Clan song they covered for a compilation album. They also took a Mase song with Puff Da...er...P. Diddy and Lil' Kim and sped it up, added guitar over it, added some heavy vocals and put it on the Chef Aid soundtrack. It kicks ass, especially knowing they actually didn't working with Lil' Diddy Mase and all them. They just took their song and fucked it up. Hehe.

Mezmerize is for me a huge letdown. Toxicity is a decent album with some great songs and I enjoyed it a lot but then Steal this album never really caught my attention and now I have lost all hope for S.O.A.D. Mezmerize sounds more like MTV-rock and pop than metal to me, but then again, categorizing is so unnecessary. I just don't like it that much.
Lost in Hollywood is okay though.

There are definitely some attacks you could make towards SOAD, but dynamics is not one of them. SOAD has a hell of a lot of dynamics--way more than most metal bands.

I personaly love there self titled disc (the one with the hand on the cover), but all the other albums are amazing. Unique in everyway, what i love about the new album is the fact that Shaivo (the guitarist/guy who screams 'BLAST OFF! ITS PARTYTIME!') wrote most of the songs, and sings/does funky stuff with his voice alot more. Not that Serg is a bad vocalist, not at all, but it was a change that was for the better. Good album, i dont listen to it that much, but its still very good

Daron is the guitarist, Shavo is the bassist and doesn't sing. Anyway, I think Daron's voice adds a nice dynamic to the music, but on Mezmerize it is more like he's the lead vocalist while Serj is a back-up vocalist. Before, Serj's voice was more prominent in the mix when he and Daron were singing together, now it's reversed and I don't think that was a good decision.

I still like Mezmerize, but I think it's their worst album because Daron doesn't fit the music as well as Serj.

I agree completely, Daron's voice sounds whiney and emo, Serj has a much better voice i think. I love the album, Daron's vocals are the only downside IMO
