I liked parts of their last album, but Im going with Riot's new album as the bestbof the year so far.

I know you won't, but go with this one too. Quality power metal. It sounds like they haven't changed since their debut, yet it sounds like something I've never heard before.

Love it.

And I thought no one could beat Serenity this year. The Black Mare alone does that.

Best power metal album of 2011 and overall top 5.

Also love it, but still not as catchy as Astronomy. Arrangements are sick, though!!

Btw, who is the operatic singer on some of the tracks?

This band is one of like three power metal bands that I like (with Lost Horizon and BG). Need to check this out.

I've been very distant from Power Metal too, and I completely agree with you.

I like it. Needs a few more spins though.

Really? Only took one for me and it has been on constant repeat since.

Two tracks immediately grabbed me, The Black Mare and Under the Grey Banner. The rest needs to grow on me, but that's definitely a solid album. I really like recent Dragonland.

It's pretty pretty pretty pretty good. It's rare to hear good Power Metal nowadays. Best album of the genre this year.

That is very true. You really don't hear good power metal unless the band is doing something different or unique, and Dragonland isn't doing anything different. They're just writing quality music. They're actually getting better with each release.

Agreed. Those two songs and Shadow of the Mithril Mountains are just fantastic, and the rest of the album is solid as well. Don't know if it tops Astronomy for me, but it's one of the best power metal albums I've heard this year.

Changed my initial opinion after listening to it non-stop for more than a week. Definitely album of the year. Looks like Olof Morck is responsible for my two favorite albums of the year...

Haven't heard the new Nightrage (or any for that matter) but yes, this album is perfect, with the exception of Dûrnir's Forge. I could really do without that song.

Never was able to really get into Starfall or Astronomy but i sort of like this. Not saying this is the best thing i ever heard nor that it's going to be among my albums of the year like some here but it's pretty decent for what it is. As far as 2011 power/symphonic metal albums i still prefer Serenity and Hibria to this but perhaps this will grow on me.

That said the AngryGuy was right in his review. That shit is quite cheesy (well the concept/lyrics that is) which is less and less my cup of tea as i get older but the music , orchestrations , melodies ect are nice so it balance things out.

After two listen i'd give it a 80/100 and that's coming from a guy who is not really a Dragonland fan so consider it a good quote from me. It may go higher if the album grow on me with time.
