The original was proto-black metal at some points, how's this?

Not heard it. Very death metal with some (sparse) symphonic bits here and there.

Edit - wait, what are you talking about?

Still going strong after all of these years, they are easily one of the last great death stomping around the globe.

Like Zad (Goat) while seeing them as a very good band they've never done anything that made me say "wow! I love these guys!". And maybe this new effort won't change that but i'll give it a listen anyways... Great reviews Zad as always :dio:

I dig Vader, but really am satisfied with only owning a physical copy of Litany. They do one mood really well, but its been getting really samey for a long time. Whether or not that is a bad or good thing is entirely subjective.

I remember listening to songs with the same names years ago, like Decapitated Saints, so I'm assuming these are re-recordings.

They have a song called Decapitated Saints in their old The Ultimate Incantation album and they have a demo called Morbid Reich before that. Karma is probably right about this. Can anyone confirm if this is a re-recording?

MA says the lyrics are the same.

Decapitated Saints 1989

Decapitated Saints 2011

Yup, re-recording alright. Much prefer the old version.

Not necessarily a bad man, just... uninformed.

It is within the realms of possibility for someone to read a review of Vader's new album without knowing every detail of their history and back catalogue - oh shit, that just happened! Perhaps laughter was somewhat presumptuous, but you can't just expect everyone to know what you're talking about in such vague terms. Consider me educated.
