I know Alcest are a good band and combining with a member of Drudkh just seems like a logical move. Im going to be buying that album.

Carrying on the proud legacy of Pacific Northwest heavy metal bands such as MALICE, METAL CHURCH, early QUEENSRYCHE and WILD DOGS, SPELLCASTER formed during early 2009 to prove that traditional heavy metal is alive and well in the USA.(says Heavy Artillery)
Worth trying anyway.

A clear progression of the elements. Fire, Water, Earth, Air, COW.

Goat I'm a bit surprised you don't like the new Decapitated. I know you like Meshuggah and that seems to be the biggest inspiration on Carnival is Forever. It basically sounds like Organic Hallucinosis meets Meshuggah meets some proggy bits. I'll admit I'm not a big fan of the more commercialized vocals though. The new guy sounds like Covan lite.

Meh, in a very dumbed-down way! I'll have to give it more listens, admittedly. And agreed re vocals.

Didn't Organic Hallucinosis already sound a lot like Meshuggah?

I guess maybe a little bit. That was never something that really popped out at me whenever I listened to it but the new one instantly gives off Meshuggah vibes.

aww that's too bad. I really love The Alchemy Index and Beggars is really good too although I have slightly mixed feelings about it. (Love all the individual songs but for some reason listening to the whole album doesn't leave me as satisfied as the rest of their stuff.)
