Fuckin A... they basically introduced the melodic twin lead guitar (there may have been a few before, but none as effective as Gorham / Robertson / Moore), are top notch musicians, and Phil Lynott.

More importantly as some thought is required to post these aforementioned classics, to what degree will the staff labor to give these albums their rightful reviews? Most if not all of these have been mentioned at some point in time these last few years, to what degree will the staff get on top of them?

I'll certainly direct people's attention here - but with one a week there's only so many we can get through, and new releases always come first.

Raising my eyebrows at some of the suggestions... some of Steve's seem better suited as archives. Goatlord, Morpheus Descends, Graveland, Crypt Of Kerberos - are these really Vital Classics? Not sure about The Mind's I or ImpNaz, either.

"Better suited" as to which their influence in the underground is unquestionable, with some of the latter acts added to the queue for influence that is measurable in terms of latter epochs of death/black's sound. Perhaps, it's pertinent to note that these are what one would term "underground" classics, none of them having reached the echelons whether deserved or undeserved of being a "mainstream" classic. Though I'm sure you and staff would be quick to note this, these albums were simply either products of their time and or didn't receive their just share of attention.

Umm Suffocation but overall a big no to this post. Oh, and Angel Witch.

- UFO (before and with Michael Schenker)
- Led Zeppelin
...and many more.

In my opinion, you guys should find someone to cover all the classic rock/hard rock/proto-metal that's been influent on the development of the metal scene. Maybe more than one classic/week would be a good idea especially if the genres differ.

Where's Genesis,Rainbow and Pink Floyd in that list?

Rainbow must have been reviewed, no?
Genesis has had one or two reviews too... I'd like more, obviously.
As for Pink Floyd, I never cared much for their music.

Why don't you stick to your shitty crust DIY hack bands, and leave the reviewing to the staff, ok comrade?

More people need to listen to this great album. Twas ahead of its time, and very incomprehended... terrible artwork though. Is it a classic? I don't know

The whole point of this thread was for people to influence the staff in what to review, asshat.

+1 to V whose list seems so obvious yet so oddly not finished.

On the contrary comrade, you posted nothing youj felt compelled to call my list "wrong". The day Nails, WITTR, Phobia or any of the other pseudo-anarchist tree hugging bands you go apeshit for release an album 1/100th as powerful as any of the aforementioned Ill smash my collection with a mallet.

These albums are probably not "genre-defining albums" or even the best in their respective labels of metal, but they are all timeless pieces that are just as good now as they were first released. At least they could be archived.

AGALLOCH's "Pale Folklore" should have been a classic.
