"The Formation of Damnation" is fantastic album with much better production and a little more technical guitar playing than previous albums, one can say. The Gathering is an excellent album as well. The huge problem I have with old Testament is the production.

The Formation of Damnation indeed is a great album. I kind of overlooked their discography for some reason. I've been catching up on them and so far I've really been enjoying them. One of my favourite thrash metal bands actually.

Mine too. There are very few bands I like in Thrash and Testament is one of them.

The formation of Damnation is 21 years after. I agree that the production is bad in The Legacy, but what can one do? Recently, when I was listening to the new version of Le Secret ep by Alcest, I thought it would be great to hear some albums rerecored. For example, Edguy's Savage Poetry new version is much better than the first.

U-hum. I think they could have done a better job with the production. I am going to give old Testament another try. I think The Gathering and The Formation of Damnation has a better structure than other albums and the riffing is better; but that's just me I suppose.

Nah, that's me as well. I'm always glad to hear those two, unlike the other albums (which are more mood-dependant).

I can definitely agree with that too.

Well, I'm glad I'm not alone. I think unlike other Thrash bands, Testament needs a closer listen on some albums like The Ritual which I'm currently listening to. I also like Chuck Billy's vocals a lot on this album. It's more on the melodic side rather than being on the typical aggressive side.

On second thought, The Ritual seems a bit simplistic for Testament's standards.

Trophy Scars - Alphabet. Alphabets.

Wondering if this album will ever get old.

So I guess the trend continues. If Testaments' album starts with "The" it is really good.
