Excellent album.

I absolutely agree. It's the background of my desktop right now. I think I'm buying it. I have In Abhorrence Dementia and Legacy of Evil but was always hesitant of getting this one. But now that I have heard it on youtube and vaguely remember listening to it in my buddy's car a long time ago, I think it's time to purchase it!

The whole album is highlights, but "In Mourning Mystique" and its nearly 15 minutes of swaying torture stands out for me.

I'm currently re-listening to the album because it's so very well done. I remember the track you mention being somewhat a standout track for me too. The album as a whole is brilliant.

Moon In The Scorpio has such an other-worldly atmosphere, it's truly outstanding.

For some reason in the song Wake Up The Mountain I always think he's singing "one more turducken" instead of "one more to count in."

Image

A turducken is a dish consisting of a de-boned chicken stuffed into a de-boned duck, which itself is stuffed into a de-boned turkey

These Arms Are Snakes - Easter
quickly becoming a favourite album. Or already is one. Whatever it fucking kills. Crazy Woman Dirty Train makes me unreasonably happy for a song about depression/masochism/suicide. And not even in like a "it's so sad and beautiful" way; happy in a "makes me want to dance and jump around and kick things" way.

Narrows - New Distances
Groovy riffs but dunno about Botch guy's screaming.

Russian Circles - Station
Might as well go for another post-TAAS member's band.

Sampling some Thy Catafalaque. Only if they had more complex riffing and more carefully arranged drums. As for electronic parts, there are much better artists in the electronic world that are doing a much better job than Kátai Tamás, though, he's doing a good as well. Of all the albums, I like "Microcosmos" the most right now.

What do you think about The Gathering? I'd say that one's on par with The Legacy.

The Gathering is pure groovy goodness, I like it, but it lacks the great guitar solos The Legacy has. My mate Alex Skolnick was really inspired in those days.
