He is. He said that in an interview, can't remember where I read it.

Thought this is interesting - Earache's Digby Pearson gives his thoughts on the new Morbid.

If Comrade Trapt's favorite band which is admittedly a piece of shit, said the nu-Morbid Angel was shit then that's like a piece of shit taking a shit.

God that man is and always will be a fucking tool. No idea where he gets the "dynamic and lively" production from either.

This album really does remind me of Celtic Frost's Cold Lake.

Giving this album a shot via YouTube. Gotta hear the whole thing myself.

...yeah, the incessant bass drum on Too Extreme is pretty grating.

EDIT: and there's no reason for that song to be over 6 fucking minutes. Seriously, 3 was hard enough to sit through.

I speculate that today's fans can't actually handle and are ill at ease with a complete 45 minute album. No-one has time to waste checking out the variety of vibes which can be displayed on an album anymore, mostly they'll just cherry pick the most well-known songs.

I suspect a good proportion of fans don't even actually play albums anymore- just mp3 collections of their favourite tracks.

Ridiculous.

Yeah, okay so this album is bad.

The straight up Death Metal songs are pretty decent, but it's not enough to save this from the pretty poor Industrial stuff. And all I could think after the last song ended was "I'm glad it's over."

Geez Digby Pearson's a total dickhead. I suspect the reason why most people don't like it is because they listen to it as a whole album and it has no flow.

I've heard compilations that sound less disjointed than this piece of shit.

And did you guys know that his label blatantly ripped off bands ala Carcass and Bolt Thrower?

Apologies for the grave digging, but this thread was great. I only ever listened to the thing in it's entirety twice, and I can't even remember it for the most part. I don't think it's St Anger bad, but I found it to be just very dumb album. The lyrics were atrocious, the Industrial was amateurish, and the riffs were dumb. It was something stupid frat boys would like. I felt it was beneath Trey's abilites to be honest. I wasn't offended by it, but they really put out something perplexing in it's stupidity.
