Enslaved's music is far above and beyond Dimmu's music by any measure of the observer's understanding. The comparison is ludicrous.
Just about any band in metal is far above Dimmu's music.
I'd say that's an unreasonable and simplistic statement. But Dimmu Borgir is a band that gets listens every three years, if that! So for me, they're a very insignificant band.
There isn't anything unreasonable about this statement, unless your Machine Head, Manowar, or Agalloch your music is probably better than Dimmu's.

I still find that statement to be illogical. Some of Dimmu's old material is very decent BM. I hate Manowar or Machine Head's music, but Agalloch? You obviously have no appreciation for fantastic BM/dark or atmospheric metal in general it appears! You see, I couldn't care less about Dimmu's music but it seems very unwise to make such statements about Old Dimmu Borgir. As for new Dimmu.... There is some truth to that and there is no denying it, whatsoever.
Aye, tis true that I am the largest HIM fan and Nightwish fan on the forum

. I don't care man, For al tid was boring melodic black metal not even comparable to the band's Scandinavian peers, and the band peaked with EDT. Statement's like this make me question your knowledge of extreme metal, as for one Agalloch are not black metal, possibly black metal influenced in terms of composition based on the listenable faster portions of the Mantle but not black metal purely.
My friend, I never said Agalloch was BM. Notice when I was talking about what genre they played, I said they were Dark/atmospheric and BM to generalize their sound. If you haven't listened to Pale Folklore you should definitely give it a listen. It's a mixture of Black/folk/doom/progressive that is a treat to listen to. The Mantle is one album that I have listened to more than any other album in my collection. The album (The Mantle) is legendary in my eyes. I really couldn't care about genres. After all they are all inter-connected. Agalloch in general can be categorized as Dark metal. And their last album is the most BM album they have done among other genres of music. Dimmu's first album was terrible. I sold that album after a few months of getting it. I agree, Dimmu comes to the very lower end of the list when compared to other bands in the genre; even their old material. Dimmu basically has two decent albums. Stormblast and Enthrone Darkness Triumphant. Also, you judging me, on my knowledge in music, amuses me no end!
