Heavy Metal/Grunge sums it up pretty well, no? I wouldn't call them pure grunge or pure metal - kinda a subgenre of their own.

Sure! Zero, bullet with butterfly wings and many of their songs lean on metal foundations so it shouldn't be a surprise that many Metal fans like to listen to them.

I don't know why though. Billy Corgan is one of the worst singers on the planet. Why anyone would give them the time of day is beyond me.

Their double album was excellent. And yeah, Corgan has a very bad voice.
